@SGAL2012:  Thanks, and Your Welcome! πŸ™‚ Yes the band for the ering and the wedding band are diamonds and the center stone is a cushion cut moissy.

As for “passing it off” for a diamond, I’ve been going with a ‘don’t ask, dont tell’ policy πŸ˜› I dont feel like dealing with other peoples judgements, and the ring is gorgeous in it’s own right. In most lighting, it reacts just like a diamond. Though, I was in walmart today and the rainbows coming off the centerstone were almost cartoonish! It was sparkle blindness! That takes a little getting used to lol.

FYI- you can get loose stones from moissaniteco.com, they sell enhanced stones that are closer to white/colorless than regular moissy.

Congrats on your up coming engagement!!!

My centerstone is a Moissanite, and my sidestones are natural diamonds. The lighting is terrible, so apologies for that!! My mom has two huge diamonds…one is a 4ct pear cut, and the other is a 4ct tw cushion cut…my parents are in SERIOUS debt because of it, and feels than anything less than a diamond is just cheap. However, she can’t tell the difference, and I don’t want a fight with her, so I didn’t tell her, and she didn’t ask! Several of my friends however, are fully aware it is a Moissanite.

When I was looking into a anniversary “upgrade” I didn’t want to spend a lot since this was just an additional ring, so I thought about doing a diamond setting with a moissanite center.  I ordered through MoissaniteCo, 1ct Oval (not enhanced) and had it set at a local jeweler (he asked where I bought my diamond btw πŸ™‚ ).  Turns out the buttery color in natural light bothered me, like it should have been more yellow to look like a fancy yellow, or just white so it wouldn’t look fake… I’d say it was a J in color.  So I sold it and bought a new diamond setting and a cushion Asha.  The setting should arrive today, hopefully Asha will be here in a couple days.  I ended up with the Asha this time because I was reading a lot of complaints about the color in the Moissanite cushions and I didn’t want to worry about mine being too yellow again, and the cost (since this is an extra ring).  The Moissanite was gorgeous, but I’m just too color sensitive I guess… Here’s a pic outside, kind of shows the color –
