In my search for an engagement diamond, i checked a couple of stores trying to find what I wanted. Here are the three best ones.
The diamond I was looking for: 1.50 Carat Princess Cut, GIA Certified, D-Color, VS1-Clarity, Very Good Polish & Symmetry, No Fluorescence, square shape
Lumera Diamonds: $10,788
All three stores had 30 day returns and give a written appraisal. Blue nile had by far the largest selection of rings to put the diamond in (maybe not the most original), Lumera Diamonds had the best price / total offer (great trade in policy and quality guarantee) but no rings other than a solitaire. I didnt spend a lot of time on Mondera after seeing the prices. I also checked Amazon, which has a lot of diamonds, but none like I wanted.
Hope this helps others in their shopping. I was surprised by the differences (almost 1,300 on a $11000 diamond) from what are supposed to be the no nonsense, get a good price type stores. I can only imagine the high and low prices you might find in every little jewelry store.

If you take those specs into a jeweler they might beat that price for your sale

Just curious did you try whiteflash.com? My ring is from there and Fiance was very happy working with them and I love my ring

I agree with ejs4y8, my Fiance and I ended up purchasing my ring from a local jewelry store that gives you peace of mind when you buy your ring, they include unlimited resizing, resurfacing, and cleaning. They also gave me a $100 credit to use towards our wedding rings. I just think its absolutely great to support your local economy. They also gave me a very competitive price and I found the engagement band I was lusting after for so long.

I have just had an EXTREMELY bad experience with Lumera Diamonds. I found the perfect diamond from them at the perfect price only to be told the next day that the diamond did not exist. I was surprised to learn that they had fake listings when it states in their company policy: “We believe in honesty. You will find our diamonds fairly and accurately described”. The customer service was reprehensible and they did not even have the integrity to offer me a diamond of equivalent quality for my original purchase price. This company has lost all credibility to me and I recommend that you do not purchase your diamonds through this retailer.

Did you check http://www.adiamor.com? They sell loose diamonds as well.
