@linnylou_88:  I would think they were equally important. I’m definitley having a channel set diamond wedding ring – it’s the only thing I’ve not changed my mind on, the e-ring changes all the time lol

I stack a plain band with a pink sapphire eternity with my ering; I also own a diamond half eternity I wear when I want to mix metals.  For me, it depends on your taste and what better suits your lifestyle.  As for which ring is more important, it’s a personal decision.  I feel both rings mark significative steps in my love relationship with Darling Husband and wearing them together make them both even more special.

I really wanted a plain band.  Partly for asthetics and partly because I did sort of feel like the ering was supposed to be flashy and the wedding band supposed to be plain.  Old fashioned?

In the end I did go with a band with diamonds in it.  The store we like didn’t have any plain bands that seemed to work and once the extra sparkles were on my finger I actually did like them.

I still sort of want the plain band though.

@linnylou_88:  yay!! hello fellow UK & diamond wedding ring bee!!!

i had always thought i would have a plain band but when it came to trying some on i was really dissapointed with the look of the rings as a set. i felt the plain bands didnt compliment or enhance my ER. i was DEVASTATED!!! i had NEVER imagined wearing a WR with stones in it!! i tried on a few and was suprised that i loved the look – i ended up with a 13 stone channel set eternity ring. and fall in love every time i look at it.

i got some negativity towards my choice – from my mum and sister of all people!! i got told that it was extravagent, impractical and OTT. it upset me at the time but i quickly came to ‘f**k ’em’ way of thinking.

stoned wedding bands arent that common in the UK but i am seeing a few more about! saying that though – i am the only one in my family and friendship group that has one. makes me feel special! LOL!

@linnylou_88:  I envision that the most important ring to be on my finger will be my wedding band. I would have preferred plain but FH picked up a sparkly band.

I say, whatever you like is the right answer!! 🙂

I think the wedding band should enhance the ering but both have equal symbolism to me.  I think they are a team just like my Darling Husband and I are a team.  Sometimes the ering is best enhanced with a plain band and sometimes it is best enhanced with sparkle.  I chose two sparkly bands on either side of my ering for my upgrade.  I love mixing and matching them on different days.  It is all individual to the couple and I don’t think anyone should tell the couple what is “right”.  “Right” is what suits the couple!

@linnylou_88:  i love diamond wedding bands, I am not a dan of plain bands, its not my style.

If you love it, wear it, who cares what they think!

I love sparkly bands but I also love solid gold bands sometimes – especially ones with beautiful engraving or other details! I would love a sparkly dainty eternity band, but I think I’ll also get an alternate, wider solid gold band to wear alone without an e-ring on days when I want to play it safe – camping, outdoors work, etc.

I have a twisted half diamond wedding ring and I WANT and plain band! I like the idea that one ring is so important that I never have to take it off.

I love my Ering and wanted something that wouldn’t compete with it – also, I wanted to have it engraved so I went with a plain band.

@linnylou_88:  Diamond, all the way. The added sparkle is beautiful and compliments the engagement ring!

When the Fiance and I have children I expect that my engagement ring will be put away to keep it from getting dirty or damaged. I wanted a band that could stand on its own and be especially beautiful.

I only know a couple of people with stones in their wedding bands. Most where I am have plain. Never heard it was because the eRing was the main thing though. I think most think the wedding band is….but have a sort of reverence for it that says it should be plain and simple not showy.

All but one of my friends who are married have diamond wedding bands. I think it is a lot more common in my generation (I’m 26) than my parents’. I can’t think of any of my mom’s friends who what diamond wedding bands (not counting anniversary rings).

I’m probably going to get a thin full eternity (I have a twist shank solitaire ering).
