Hello all! This is my first post and I’m excited to finally be a part of the community!
My fiance knew me well enough to know that it would be best for me to pick out the ring myself since I am ridiculously picky when it comes to jewelry. I ended up choosing a diamond band instead of the traditional center stone engagement ring since I wanted something that sat low so that I could still wear it under gloves for work. I absolutely love the way the ring looks, however I can’t help but wonder if I’m missing out by going non-traditional. I was just wondering if anyone else went the non-traditional route with a wedding band for the engagement ring and how you feel about it now that you’ve had it for some time?

It’s lovely. If you love it, it works for you, then it’s perfect!

I don’t have a band as my engagment ring,my husband wasn’t the biggest fan of the idea, and I regret not pushing for it more! I love the idea, it’s beautiful yet practical! Yours is exspecially stunning 🙂 And you could always get an “engagment” ring later if you really want to.

That is so beautiful! And perfect for gloves. I think you definitely made the right choice.

tn2017: Love it. One of my favorite looks is a diamond band paired with a plain band. I almost went for that instead of a solitaire. Looks perfect on you!

I love that. So classy and elegant. It looks incredible on you. Don’t let anyone else make you feel like you “should” be doing anything, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

It’s lovely! I think what you have is brilliant! I’m also a fan of practical everyday jewelry. If it works for you that is all that matters. Like PP said you can always get a more traditional ring to wear later when your lifestyle permits. I’m betting that it will not be that important to you by then.

I think it’s perfect! You could get a plain band or another diamond band to go with for your actual wedding band! Where did you get it by the way? I’m looking for a wedding band right now, and I love it!

Yours is so beautiful and unique it is definitely as dramatic as a tradtional ring- but more practical. My friend did the same thing and she is thrilled with it. I think the diamond band can be a lot more elegant, when I get my diamond wedding band I plan to wear it without my engagement ring to work etc.

tn2017: I absolutely love it!!! I honestly wanted the same as you! Just one beautiful band. My husband had other plans thouhH. Love love love your band!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments and suggestions! I do love the band and I realize I’m just being ridiculous and experiencing unnecessary ring envy after looking at everyone’s beautiful rings on the forums.
lr0901: It’s the garland band from Bluenile! They have half and full eternity options (the one I’m wearing is the half).

tn2017: umm hey twin !!! I have the same wedding band….mine is full eternity.
I think it’s perfect (has a lot of BLING) and you don’t need another ring if you don’t necessarily want one ! These days there is no “right” way to wear your rings…plenty of people just get one ring.

Your band is beautiful!
I also wanted a low profile engagement ring and was given a (half) eternity band. I love mine as well. Maybe one day I’ll want to add a single-stone ring to the stack, but for right now this band is perfect for me and my lifestyle. I plan to get a plain wedding band to go with it.
