I have a 5 diamond prong wedding band. I think you will be fine once you get used to the diamond there.

I have a 9 diamond prong ring. Each diamond is 0.10 ctv. The diamonds cover exactly half the ring but I have quite thin fingers. I think it is very comfortable not to have diamonds all the way around the ring, but o/c I feel the diamonds/prongs when I close my fingers.

EDIT: Surely the comfort depends on how big the diamonds are. I think that if I had bigger diamonds in my ring it would be uncomfortable to wear.

This may sound silly, but could you go to a department store and buy a cheap band that has stones all the way around?

That way you can tell if stones all the way around the band would bother you.

That’s actually what my jeweler told me to do. I wanted an eternity ring, and she told me to buy a fake one first just to see what I thought about it. It is a smart idea.

I am not wearing my wedding band yet, but I like wearing it around the house. It’s an eternity band with round brilliant stones in a shared prong platinum setting and is 2.7 carats total… size 5.  I am 99% sure there are 18 stones that are .15 carats each.

I don’t even notice the diamonds.  It feels no different from wearing my engagement ring.  Now, if you are thinking about getting something like a 6 or 7 ctw eternity band, then the stones are significantly larger and may cause problems, but not at something with 3.5 ctw or under.

Same as Louboutin, My ering is on an eternity band and it was slightly unconfortable at first but now I don’t feel anything. As a matter of fact I took it off to clean my bathroom yesterday and I just realized its still sitting on my jewelry box 🙁

My wedding band is a half-eternity band. It was 11 diamonds that exactly 50% of the way. In trying it on, the diamonds do rest up against my fingers, but it’s still pretty comfortable.

Since diamonds are in different sizes, 9 diamonds may or may not span across the finger, so if you are concerned about the comfort, it may or may not be an issue.

My wedding band has 5 stones on top.  On the rare ocassion that it spins so the diamonds are in between my fingers it drives me crazy!  I tried on rings that had diamonds around half of the band and I found to sooooo uncomfortable.  I think that buying a fake one kind of like what you are considering is a good idea because as demonstrated by everyones responses, it is totally personal if it will bug you or not.  Good luck!
