Rock that rock!

I am originally from western Europe an all my friends have rings around .3-.4 ct and I rock my 2+ on a 5.5 finger and I love it. I really don’t feel that it’s to big and hubby already offered an upgrade (which I don’t really want for sentimental reasons). My personal “too big” starts at around 4.5 ct (round)

My threshold for size depends on the stone type. For a diamond, any bigger than 3ct. is too large.  For moissy my threshold is MUCH lower, I find anything over 1.5ct to be too large as it starts to look like an imposter stone.  For colored gems it’s 2ct. as anything over that starts to look like a cocktail ring to me.

I think you should wear what you love and not worry about size. 🤗 Personally, I don’t care for a ctw over .5 but I have small hands, short fingers and size 5.5. However, when I see larger stones on others they look lovely. Just not my personal taste. Enjoy!

Well, mine is 2.25 I have a size 4.5 finger and I think it looks kind of small on my hand. Everyone is different, you have to decide if you like how it looks.

As you can see from the responses on this thread it’s really a matter of personal taste.  As for judgement, you can always find a critic.  I think you should feel confident in your choice and enjoy your ring.

I have a 1.94 ct with a size 7. I personally don’t think it’s that large or obnoxious, but definitely just try one on at a local store so you can see!

I have found that finger size determines if a stone ‘appears’ too big or small. I have a size 4 finger and I tried on a ring with a 2ct stone and it looked like I was wearing costume jewelry because it just swallowed my finger and ended up looking fake.  I got a 1ct stone because it still looked large on my finger but real.

fiancetobee :  on another thread you said you got your 2 carat lab diamond from India for only $2,000. That’s wonderful! I don’t think you saw the comments there. Several asked what site/ store was it? We all want to know pretty please!

I think 3 CT’s is starting to get too big. I also have a 6.5 ring size, decided on moissinite and its 1.35 equiv. I think the 2 will give you good finger coverage.
