I am having David Klass design my engagement ring, and totally for the life of me cannot decide whether I want the sides to be plain, or with diamonds. One of the piece of advice from a friend was to think about the band you want your ring to be with, and that is totally throwing me off thinking about BOTH rings together.
The ring is in rose gold, the little swirl on the inside is white gold.
Argument for plain: The top part of the ring is really fancy, don’t want diamonds on the side to be over the top or distracting from the detail. More sophisticated or classic look (?). If the wedding band is also sparkley its not just a whole lot of sparkles on my finger.
Argument for diamonds on side: … they’re sparkley… ?! I don’t want to get bored of a plain band in the future

I really don’t have any advice to offer–just wanted to say that either way–wowza! What a beautiful ring! I hope you post the finished product!

Beautiful ring – I’d keep side stones. They go with the small stones that surround the top basket, and draw your eye to them. I think without them it would look funny

Diamonds on the side because DIAMONDS ..also it looks better because of the stones on the side gallery portion

It looks like it will be a gorgeous ring! The detailing around the prongs look amazing and the diamonds down the sides will add more glamour if you love bling. I am waiting for my new rose gold ring too (soooo excited!! One more week!) and I went with a plain band only because I love the traditional solitaire look and I didn’t want anything to distract from the centre diamond. It’s simple and traditional. But whenever I see rings with lots of diamond details, I love them!

I think you should leave the band plain to let the center stone be the star, then pair it with a diamond wedding band. Yum!
