I don’t have one, because I didn’t think it was worth the expense.  Instead, we just use a small trash can with a lid and take the trash out every day.  The smell has never been an issue, this way, and I have a very sensitive nose!

I had one with my last child and I think it was worth it.  Before that with my other kids, I used a diaper pail.  It worked out pretty well too.

I don’t have a kid, but I was a nanny for many years…and yes, I think they’re worth every penny!

Totally not worth the money I had 2 and they were a pain so I never used them. Instead I got the orange smell seal bags that tie up… they smell kind of floral and I would just toss them in a covered trash can and take the trash out every night. Never smelled a thing. The bags are cheap and easy. I took them everywhere with me. I was a daycare teacher for 5 years as well and we used the bags there too.

I didn’t think it was worth it. I got the genie as a gift, but the bags are ridiculously expensive in my opionion too. We just use a trash can with a lid now, and it works just as good for us.

I’ve been told by many people (mostly parents, 1 nanny) they really don’t work. We are skipping any sort of specialized diaper disposal system.

A friend of mine got one as a gift and she tolerated it. I think she only used it for a month or two before getting rid of it and then she just had a smaller trashcan with a lid on it. She said it worked the same and she didn’t have any smell issues.

IMO it was a waste of money.. I didnt really like it a small trash worked a lot better for us. I think we only used for a 2 weeks …

If you do get one you HAVE to empty it everyday if you have number 2 diapers in there.  Every 2 days at least for anything else.  They stink up fast and buying those special bags is a pain.

Since we live in an apt, for me it was easier to use our kitchen garbage and empty that frequently.

We have one and it works perfectly.  Ours does not smell at all.

Totally worth it, IMO.  I used it daily with my little sister and there was no smell.  I would definitely get one if it is an option, or in the budget.  We kept hers in her room by her changing table- easy- just change her, step on it, drop it in.  I have also been a nanny and I do not prefer poopy diapers in the kitchen.

Listen hunn, IT”S TOTALLY WORTH IT!  I had my baby last year and i couldn’t wait to get our diaper genie…we’ve been using it all along and now she’s 10 months old still use it. The bags are cheap we get 2 for abour $7 and the bags are long one bag lasts us longer than a week. We have ours here in our livingroom and there is no smell to it. The bags are easy to replace, my Fiance is the one that takes care of that. Please do not go and think that a little trash can is better. Yesterday i ran our of bags it was too late to go buy some at walmart so we threw some diapers in the garbage…smh..the whole house smelling like crap..I can tell you they are a life saver…the smell doesn’t come through the DG it is worth it, some people don’t know how to use it so they just give up.
