I’m very excited for my Mikvah. I have done it before, unofficially in a legal body of water for other purposes… (aka letting go of bad relationships or tough times) and always felt amazing afterwards.
I recommend getting a bride or kallah teacher. Someone you trust that can talk through Jewish aspects of getting married first.

I’m having a mikvah and I’m excited–I hate urban mikvahs and the wedding is on my family farm, so I am immersing in one of the ponds in the woods with my cousin as mikvah attendant. I’m very excited.
By the way, about shellac: according to Sephardi rules, nail polish IS acceptable, as long as it is not chipped or cracked (and obviously, the under-cleaning is done carefully).
Normally for symbolic reasons I would prefer to NOT have nail polish, but weddings are hard enough to organize and time anyway…
So…yay Sepahrdim!!
