I wish there had been an inbetween answer.  For every major event or holiday in 2008, I thought "This is it, he’s going to propose!" and he didn’t.  So for Christmas, I tried not to set myself up for disappointment.  Opening presents, I knew I was getting jewelry (I asked for earrings) but had that little bit of hope that it would be a ring instead, and it was!

If I had really thought it was actually going to happen, I might have put on actual clothes rather than sitting around in old PJs, haha.

I definitely had a feeling!  We got engaged the day after our 4-year anniversary – we went out to dinner at a beautiful restaurant in Philadelphia called The Moshulu – it’s a boat that is also a restarant and its right on the water and just so lovely.  My suspicions started weeks before that when he asked if I would like to go out to Moshulu to celebrate our anniversay…my <3 HATES going out to eat, so I had an inkling that something was up.  While getting ready for dinner, I made sure I was extra pretty just in case it was ‘the night’.

Sooo back to the story…after dinner he said that he wanted to go on a walk with me outside up to the top deck of the boat so we could look at the water etc and he was acting all nervous and everything.  As soon as we got up there I just started giggling because at that point I just knew for sure!  He was like "What? You know?!" and I said "What are you talking about, I have no idea" in a joking tone.  And then he got down on one knee, recited a poem by heart that he wrote for me, and consequently proposed 🙂
