I am 5’4” without heels. I ordered a maggie petite and we paid another $100 to get the petite length. The store owner told my mother and I that it would be the perfect length and that I would not have to get the dress shortened. The dress came in and it does not say petite on the label and it is WAY too long. I honestly don’t think it is any shorter than the one I tried on originally. It is lace and I worry that alterations are going to be very expensive. Did anyone else pay for the maggie petite (the extra petite fee) and still have to get extensive alterations to the length. Something seems wrong

Did they measure you to determine the length for the dress? Hollow to hem? If they did, and the dress doesn’t match that measurement, then there is a problem. If not, then you should ask to see the measurement difference between the regular and petite. I bet the petite is made for women who are like 5’6″ or 5’7″.

I think that sounds wrong. I am 5’3 and ordered a maggie petite and the store lady thought there was a chance I wouldn’t need hemming after the hoop skirt is added.

I ordered a petite. I am 5’2, and after I put on my 4″ heels, my dress still needed half an inch of hemming. How much does yours need? These dresses are super long whether petite or not.

From what I know Maggie doesn’t charge $100 for a petite dress. I ordered mine in petite and the store said it was the same price. Petite will apparently (says my dress store) fit a 5’6″ – 5’8′. I’m 5’5″ and ordered the petite and they told me not to buy shoes just until the dress came in so I could make it the right length.
Maybe email maggie sottero and ask them if they put a petite label in the dresses?

I ordered a Maggie petite and I still needed to hem. I have to go check my dress, but I’m not sure the label would say petite on it.

I paid extra for the petite size. I’m 5’4 and with 2 inch heels I needed no hemming at all.
