So I’m watching Say Yes to the Dress, and I’ve seen maybe 3 brides cry over their dress already. I didn’t cry, I just had a big smile on my face and everyone said I looked so happy, some said I was “glowing” but no crying, not even a little choking up, or watery eyes. Did you cry?

No tears here! I had found mine online and ordered a sample shipped to the boutique so I could see it in person and try it on before deciding to buy. The sales lady hadn’t even finished pulling it out of the bag when I announced “yep it’s the one!” And then I was just all smiles when I tried it on.
(I didn’t cry when he proposed either. Not all of us girls express emotion through tears!)

I was the same as you when I found the one. But when I tried on my first wedding dress I cried.

Not going to lie – I was teary eyed. I was all smiles at first looking in the mirror, but when I turned around to my family and friends, they were all crying!! So it did make me tear up a bit!

@jenbrandner: I didn’t cry when he proposed either, I actually kind of awkwardly laughed… lol

I just got my dress yesterday and I didn’t ‘cry’. My eyes teared up, but my mother in law (well soon to be) actually cried. hehe That’s what made me tear up more, but when I looked in the mirror I did get choked up because it was kind of becoming a reality. I think I’ll have to worry about picking up the dress with my mom because I KNOW she will cry, which will make me cry, and of course the day of. I’m hoping that I don’t lose it. 😛

It’s weird, b/c I’m a cryer when watching other people go through this stuff, but I didn’t cry for anything. Not when he proposed, not when I found the dress, not during the ceremony.

I definitely didn’t cry when I found my dress. I was way too busy brimming with excitement to stop and cry.

@agirlwithdreams7: My mother in law cried and my Maid/Matron of Honor cried too. My mom didn’t, she was just smiling a lot. I told SO that he’s going to cry when he sees me walking down the aisle. only because he’s been eerily emotional lately. lol

I cried when I found a dress that I thought might have been the dress, but wasn’t sure,…and it cost $8.5K…and I had to decide w/in the weekend b/c I was out of time.
The next day, I found “the dress” and I just felt solid. It was the one. I didn’t have to worry about getting pressured into a crazy pricey uncertainty. I was still to aware of the expense and my not-so-bridal hair and make-up to get lost in the moment though. I’ll save that for my wedding day.

I didn’t cry when I found my dress–I was just delirously happy. I really wanted to though and was hoping I would, especially after thinking that was what you were supposed to do (thank you SYTTD!).
I cannot think of a time I’ve cried when I was excited or happy. My emotions just don’t come out that way. I will be curious to see if I cry on my wedding day. That will be the ultimate test of emotions. I think I may end up breaking my norm that day 🙂

I wish I had cried!!! I keep seeing these brides on tv like you mentioned and they seem so emotional. While I felt elated? happy? when I tried my dress on I didn’t cry. Perhaps I’ll cry during fittings?

No crying for me, just smiles. I didn’t cry when he proposed either. I did get a little teary eyed when he proposed but that was it. I’m not a happy cryer, I giggle instead. I’ve already warned my fiance that I’ll probably giggle during the ceremony so be ready. 🙂

I didn’t so much find the dress as create it. When I saw the first pictures of it I did a *gasp* “Oh my god”. No crying though. I was more speechless

A little yes, but I think it was mostly because my awesome sales lady burst into tears! My Mom was looking at her like “wtf?”
