Just do it! I went over by twice as much. I planned for $1500 and have spent $3000. But when it comes to the dress, you have to say yes to the one you love!!! I dont regret $3000!

I was sure I was going to spend a ton on my dress, like as in 20-25% of the entire wedding budget, because the only designer whose dresses I really liked started her pricing at about $5K, but I shocked myself by stopping into the one bridal shop in my hometown over the holidays, which happened to be hosting an Allure trunk show that day, and fell HARD for the C207, which was on sale for about $1600. So needless to say I was pretty happy with that outcome.

I ended up way under budget) which was 10k max, but I bought a dress for 2700 (incl alterations/tax) so now I’ll probably spend the rest on sash, shoes and veil

I went shopping with no Budget… but our local shop most expensive dress was $3000. The dress I brought was $1500 with estimated alterations at $300.

My sister went mental at me for spending soo much, but after looking at few other shops (to find a better bargin) she soon realised that my dream dress was cheeper than most.

My sister is simple and elegant where I am drama and detail – and that ups the price.

I am pretty sure I have seen a similar dress on Etsy, if you want to check that out. There is a risk when purchasing online but it may be worth it.

My budget was $1200, and I spent $575 (bought from a fellow bee who was having dress regret)
