Don’t sell yourself short — that dress is beautiful!  And it’ll definitely be oh-so bridal on your wedding day!  Are you planning on any special accessories?

That’ll be beautiful!  I was THIS close to ordering a bridesmaids dress in ivory but ended up picking out a dress at the shop I went to right after trying on Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses.  I think it works great and sometimes I really wish I had gone that route just to have something more simple and comfortable.  I think it’s super smart – beautiful dress + major savings! Cant go wrong.

I did not, but I seriously considered ordering a Jim Hjelm lace back one that looked like a Vera…would have cost me about $350.  Definitely not a “cheap” or “lazy” route!  You got a gorgeous dress that, HAD it been made with the intention of a bridal gown, would have been inflated in price by about 400%.  Heck yes for the deal!!

We’re having a blessing and reception two weeks after the wedding and I’m seriously considering this Dessy dress in Ivory http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/2758/  - I think it’s a great idea if you find a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress that you really like!

I also saw this Jasmine dress that I liked and am considering (attached)

I love the JCrew Sophia dress!  So elegant and classy.  I think it’s a gorgeous dress and you can’t beat the price!  I also love that Jasmine dress you posted, AnamCara.  Very pretty.

I’m actually using this dress for our first ceremony (church) pretty casual event with just our parents and then another fancier dress for our destination wedding in Aruba with all our friends and family!!this dress is a mori lee bridesmaid dress!

Yes… but I did it for my bridesmaids. 😉 They’ll be in two Dessy dresses with ivory matte satin and a black lace overlay. I’m going fancy-pants with a train, but when we first thought about a summer wedding on the beach, I was all about the long bridesmaid dresses… they make better, more affordable casual dresses!

@AnamCara: I tried to get my mom to get that same Dessy dress (in black with a champagne belt) as a MOB dress. 😉 She didn’t bite, though.

I’m still debating whether or not to get a jcrew dress. My bf made me a dress but idk how I feel about it. She did a good job but idk…I’m not sold. Need to figure out how to navigate this situation!

I went with a bridesmaid dress in ivory and its to just below the knee. I was pretty torn with what I wanted to do but I’m SO happy I went with this rather than a formal bridal gown.

Here’s what I picked!

Its by a designer Jenny Yoo.  Her other dresses are gorgeous too.  Her website has a list of all the locations that carry her dresses.
