With baby #2 I was in labor for about 3 hours.  Pushed for about 10 minutes, 1 natural tear – requiring 8 stitches.

Baby #1 was about 18 hours, pushed 45 minutes and needed 3 episiotomies and 20 stitches… he was a little bigger with a bigger head though…

With my first baby, I went from not dilated at all to 10cm in 30 minutes. I had my daughter 15 minutes after they checked me. No tearing.

My second daughter, I don’t know how long it took for me to dialate, they gave me  an epidural then checked me and I was  ready to push, three pushes later my second daughter arrived and I had minor tearing with a  single stitch. Normally they would check you first but the labor unit was insanely busy that day and I had told them I really wanted an epidural this time around since the previous time I wasn’t allowed one because there was no time.

Both labors I basically walked and marched in place until it was time to push. I got to do both a little longer than usual becasue no one believed I was progressing so fast!
