I moved home for a grand total of 3 months after I was finished with school. My husband and I got engaged the same month I came back and then we found a place to live together.

I got a job right after graduation, but since it was local I did move back home. I lived at home for 2 years while working and saving my money so I could buy a house. Best decision I ever made! It was hard for sure to go back to rules and checking in after living on campus and partying all the time, but the rewarding feeling of buying a home by myself at 25 was so worth it!!

I moved into the dorms for college, and into my first apartment after graduation because I started my job right away! I lived on my own for a year and some change, but moved back home recently to save money. My boyfriend moved to a different town to go to medical school, and I’m waiting until I can join him in that town, so saving money is the main concern right now! Plus it’s nice to be back with my parents and my younger siblings that still live at home.

Wow this is interesting. Im 27 and still living at home. Moved back from college at 22 and currently looking for a place to live on my own. Just finished paying off my car that I got in 2012 so now I have a little bit more money to spend on rent.  Rent in NYC is really expensive, most of my friends still live at home as most of us cant really afford living on our own.

I had a job lined up a couple months before I graduated, so I moved to the new city and got my own apartment right away.

I moved to my mother’s home and got a job for a couple years and saved up (not nearly enough) money to go to graduate school.

I was home 8 months total, from the time I came home after finishing clinicals in another city until I moved out into an apartment of my own.  In that time, I studied for and took my boards, officially graduated, went through the licensure process for my profession, worked a temp job near my parents, and applied/interviewed for more permanent positions.  It didn’t make sense to move out for a job I knew would be ending after 5 months.  Instead, I waited and found an apartment in the appropriate area once I had signed a year-long contract for my second post-college job.
