    @ladeeeda:  I paid $30k to be an ‘expert’ in it. My job is not to educate people for free in something I devoted time and money to. If you care so much, look it up yourself or go to college and stop blaming others for not spoonfeeding it to you.

    @Peacockfeather:  Why would you even bring it up to begin with if you don’t want to educate people… if that’s what you call it?   For your information, I did google it and I found no information that agreed with the “facts” you provided.   At this point, I think you are full of shit and I don’t really care about your “facts” anymore.  Now I’m more curious to know what crawled up your ass and died?  You are being very rude for no reason.  Is this a rough time of year for you?

    WebMD article reviewed by an actual medical doctor recognizes happy tears!  Includes quotes about happy tears from clinical pscyhology professor at UCLA, and a practicing psychologist who says this lovely gem: “people cry in response to something of beauty. There, I use the word ‘melting.’ They are letting go of their guard, their defenses, tapping into a place deep inside themselves.”

    Gorgeous, right?  That’s how I feel when I think about marrying my fiance and my eyes well up with tears.  No sadness, no jealousy, no fear, just tapping into a place deep inside myself.

    Some other totally random person on the internet claims questionable Psychological fact.  Should we believe it because this person with a sign says so?  I tend to cry out of both eyes all the time.  Then again, I’m an ugly crier – my eyes get all watery and my nose turns red, no delicate single tear drops running down my cheek.  Alas.

    This anadian psuchology site says extraverts are less likely to cry happy tears, but does not deny their existence.

    Tears can result from a variety of causes.  Proposals can be so happy that they make you cry.  Or if you’re an introvert, well aquainted with your internal well of emotions, reflecting on your proposal and your love can make you well up with emotion so that you have to cry to return to a stable emotional state.

    I teared up. I tear up at joyous moments, it’s like I have an excess of happiness that leaks out my eyes!

    @mjoyelle:  *high five*

    I didn’t cry, but my fiancé did, as well as his dad. ๐Ÿ™‚ these two big, stoic, tough guys… Reduced to happy tears ๐Ÿ™‚ melted my heart. Still no crying from me though. Just quiet happiness. How I’ve always been.

    @peasantsong:  The fact that you choose to be offended by what I say is, again, not my problem. Is this a rough time for you? Not used to not getting what you want? See how antagonistic that is? Maybe you should recosider what you yourself are saying.

    @Peacockfeather:  Haha… oh brother.  I’m not offended, just kind of flabbergasted.  Here I was giving you the benefit of the doubt but no, you’re just a naturally… pleasant…. person.

    Nope, I did not cry either. I “teared up” and thought something was wrong with me for not boo-hoo crying becaus his proposal was amazing. But hey, after a few days I realized everyone reacts differently. Congrats on your engagement!

    @Peacockfeather:  Why would I search Google for your opinion on the psychology of tears?

    I’ve been with my fiance for 9 years before he finally proposed. We talked about getting married and I knew we were going to get engaged one day but I just never expected it when he finally did propose. He got down on one knee and I honestly didn’t even think he had a ring and I started crying. Then he pulled out the ring and I cried like a baby for what felt like 5 minutes haha! My fiance probably won’t admit it but I saw him get a little teary eyed too. ๐Ÿ™‚

    I always thought I would cry, but instead, I was giddily happy, giggling like a fool.  I seriously didn’t stop for about three hours.  Darling Husband found it very amusing!
