gloshlove:  I wasn’t planning on having a trial but ended up having one.  I am so glad I did because the lady that did my hair did a wonderful job on it but I ended up changing something I didn’t like about it.  So the day of the wedding she knew exactly what I wanted and it was perfect!

gloshlove:  I didn’t have one but that’s because I know my hairstylist years and she’s done loads of styles in my hair. I trusted her on the day and it worked our perfect!

gloshlove:  I planned my wedding long-distance so I had to go with a new hairstylist without a hair trial. She did a great job, but when I look back I do wish I had figured out a way to squeeze in a trial because there were some things I would have changed.

For what it’s worth I also went with a stylist who was super pricey and had impeccable reviews. And again, she made me look awesome, so in no way is there a feeling of regret, but it wasn’t quite what I had pictured in my head.

If you’re going with a stylist you trust, then there may be no reason for a trial. Otherwise, I’d recommend a trial purely due to the difficulty of communicating about looks with someone who doesn’t actually know what your hair is like and doesn’t get a chance to play with it before the big day.

I didn’t. It didn’t end up looking excactly how i envisioned it, but i thought it looked gorgeous. So if you want it a specific way, have a trial. If something similar is still good enough for you, you dont need it.

Like 3 weeks after my wedding it occured to me that i had different curls than i first wanted.

I had two trials with stylists but the first one did my hair and I loved it. The stylist I finally booked with I won’t have a trial with because it’s out of state. But I fully trust her ability to recreate the hair style I like.

gloshlove:  I had a Destination Wedding so I couldn’t do a hair trial. Luckily, my coordinator did a fantastic job reccomending a great stylist. I think she did an awesome job and had super reviews.

gloshlove:  It was just kind of blah. Like the pictures I had were of an intricate, volumous updo with romantic elements and what I ended up with was just…blah, not bad, not good lol.

I had a consultation–basically just went in, showed the guy what I wanted (low, loose updo with some volume around my face), and he said, “Yeah, sounds great,” and kind of fluffed my hair around and said he’d been doing hair for twenty years and it was all going to be great. I was all I’m-a-super-chill-bride, and decided that was good enough… it was NOT.

My hair is literally my one regret about the wedding, hahaha. The guy basically gave me crazy super tight helmet-head with a huge gigantic curly pouf at the crown of my head, and like an hour before the wedding I made him totally start over. Then he was kind of grumpy and we were rushed, and it ended up looking okay enough, but not at all what I originally asked for. He kept telling my hair was “not cooperating.” Like, what?! Is that even a thing?! And I have really easy hair, lots of body, holds curl really well…

So yeah, I would seriously get a hair trial, LOL.

I really considered not having one- we had a destination wedding and I was wearing my hair down- I figured how much could one screw that up. I ended up doing it and boy was I happy that I did- I did not like my hair at all- we were able to fix it and come up with a better game plan for the wedding hair- which turned out great!

If I had my regular stylist doing it I wouldn’t have needed a trail- but if you have someone new to your hair doing it- do a trial!

I didn’t have a trial mainly because the stylist I was using was 1,200 miles away from where I live and I didn’t have time to fly out there, have a trial and fly back. I wanted something simple so I was 100% not worried about it. I looked lovely.

No trial for me due to the distance. I’m using a stylist that’s done my sisters hair before, but never even met me. Im trying to convince my mom to go in and let her practice on her.

I’m super easy going though and asking for an easy style so I’m not all that worried.
