Just wanted to see if I’m the only Bee considering not having their fingernails or toenails painted for their weddding day. I’ve never liked nail polish, and I feel like my hands and feet look weird with it on. I’d like to just have my nails shaped and cuticles cut for the wedding, just to feel clean and enjoy a little spa day. Even clear polish is annoying to me because it will still peel at some point, or I have to use smelly nail polish remover on my hands. I’m already starting to get some pushback from family on the nontraditional aspects of this entire event, and I was wondering if this will push them over the edge. Should I just suck it up and have them painted?
Post your pics of your naked nails on your wedding day!
Ring pic… with an unpainted pinkie finger!

@sunsetchristy: Do a french manicure but do have your nails done!

I voted “go for naked nails” because I think you should do what YOU want with your nails for your wedding day.
That said, I would strongly recommed a clear coat for your finger nails to make them look more polished (pun intended). If it chips or peels after the wedding, oh well. If you’re wearing open-toe shoes, I’d suggest at least 2 clear coats on your toes as well. Or a very pale, shimmery white. Definitely have them professionally done so that they look even and pampered. Good luck!!
p.s. OMG, your ring is STUNNING!!
I had my nails shaped, buffed, and painted with 2 coats of clear polish for my wedding. It looked natural and elegant.

I’m not doing my nails. I am getting a mani/pedi though. But it’s mostly for pampering’s sake. I’ve never had either. I’m a hardcore nail biter and cuticle picker (wish I wasn’t!!!) so my nails will need some work and they might need to do SOMETHING to them but I want them to at least look as natural as possible.

- Wedding: April 2013 - A court...
If you have good nails or prefer natural go for it 🙂
Wish I could but my nails are horrible 🙁 Always chip at the end (the white part) so I’ll probably opt for a light peach/ coral shade.

I probably won’t. I never, ever, ever paint my fingernails, and I see no reason to do it for the wedding. I will definitely make sure my nails are looking good though! I will probably paint my toenails though.

I love having my toes painted so I’ll do that. I like having my nails painted but a manicure on my just doesn’t last (even the shellac ones don’t last a full week). Plus i’m getting married in another country and don’t know any salons there that do nails. So I think I’ll get a basic manicure before I go, and then do a clear coat or tow myself the day of the wedding and that’s it.

I never paint my finger nails, but I always have colour on my toes. I’m planning on having a gel manicure with a simple colour, just so my hands look nice and polished. If I had nice enough fingernails, I probsbly wouldn’t paint them either because I hate chipping polish!
for the cuticle bitter, that used to be me!! I used to bite my cuticles and skin around my nails so badly they would bleed and peel and it was so not attractive. I made a conscious effort to stop 4 months ago, and the difference is crazy. It’s very very hard to stop and resist the urge, even just to NOT do it subconsciously..but I’m so happy with the results. My cuticles are even, no splitting or breakage or peeling, they look fantastic.
