@Pinksapphire: My friend took our photos at our Destination Wedding and she is just starting out in photography. I can email you some if you want, I just don’t want to post them in this thread. I am very happy with how they turned out. 🙂 If you do your research there’s no reason why you can’t get great pictures on a budget. They might not be perfect, but if you’re not an overly-picky or anal bride, then you’ll be happy with them. I know I was happy with mine. Good luck!

I didnt have the budget for a professional photographer, I had to cut out a lot of things as it was, no honeymoon, no e-pics, etc. I could not have paid for a professional photographer unless I maxed out my credit card, my husbands credit card, and used family money. I had $4000 and huge families on both sides, so I just asked my aunt (who has a nice camera and takes nice photos as a hobby) and other guests to take lots of photos and give me a copy of them as part of their wedding gift to me. Am I sad that I didnt get beautiful professional photos like other brides? of course, but I have some nice ones and I didnt have to spend a cent on them. I plan on doing a ten year vow renewal and having a professional photographer then. Here are some of my aunts photos.

@KatNYC2011: my venue is including fireworks when we exit. I have been trying to book a photographer for the entire time until we leave but the photographer who did our engagement pictures said that firework pictures are hard to capture. im glad he advised me that because now i may not need a photographer there the whole time.

Hello Bees, I am NO where near a pro photographer nor do I claim to be one but I have shot weddings in the past for friends and family for way less the amount of what the pros shoot. This is more of a hobby for me, here’s some shots from random weddings I shot. It really depends if the client knows your capability and is willing to work with that then that is the risk they must take with not going with a Pro.
