I wore flats. No regrets.

I’m wearing heels because I feel like it makes me look more ‘elegant’ as the dress has longer to fall from my waist. I also think I hold myself better. HOWEVER – mine are not the most beautiful shoe ever – they are platform and block heel so primarily there for comfort + height.  I think if you are happy with your dress in flats – go for it!

MsBeer :  I wore kitten heels. My dress was long and full. Nobody saw my feet and they were the most comfortable pair of shoes ever. I did a lot of standing, walking and dancing on my wedding day. I don’t imagine I would have felt so happy in uncomfortable high heeled shoes. 😊

I have never regretted a single occasion where I wore flats.

I have many occasions regretted wearing heels.

I’m planning to wear heels, but will have something to change into as well just in case. If the dress ends up slightly long, we’re inside anyway so it’ll be fine. I just can’t quite bring myself to wear flats all day, as I have never found a pair of flat shoes that provide enough support or which I actually like!

MsBeer :  Ah I think you will be fine – you are wonderfully tall and if you felt the dress looked right barefoot then definitely go for it! Painful feet are the absolute PITS! I’m getting married at the beach (with the clunky shoes) so imagine I will be in flipflops later on unless my adrenalin has completely numbed my entire body.  For my London ceremony I just ordered some blue velvet heels – again am crossing fingers that my fear will numb my feet long enough to survive.

There’s a brand called Vionic that makes some insanely comfortable kitten heels. Some of their stuff is a little orthotic looking, but they’ve got a nice sandal with a chunky heel I’ve been considering. My Fiance is only two inches taller than me though…anyone found cute flats? OP, what did you end up with in terms of pumps?

I’m 5’8″ and while I love wearing heels out, I did NOT want to be uncomfortable for my wedding. My ceremony was also on grass and our venue had sketchy AF “garden stairs” (ie flat rocks stacked to make stairs) so it was not a safe idea lol. I loved wearing flats. My feet still hurt the next day – probably just from running around and being on my feet all day, I cant imagine how bad it woulda been if I had heels on!

I’m 5’9″ and my SO is about 5’11”, so while I am not married yet, there’s a good chance I won’t wear heels on my wedding day. I would probably get some cute heels to wear to the shower, rehearsal dinner and other pre-wedding day events, but not the actual wedding day. I have worn flats under a floor length dress to formal events before, especially if it’s a regular length off the rack dress that can be too short if I wear heels and I have never regretted it. No one can tell and at the end of the night where a bunch of people end up taking off their shoes because their feet hurt, I don’t have to worry about that problem! smile Do whatever you are going to feel your best and most comfortable in!

I wore flats and had absolutely no regrets. I did make sure to check my posture throughout the wedding though!
