Not really. I dont think I ever had the “fever” at some point it just felt right, but I was never fanatical about it.

I’ve always wanted children but I was always ok with it being in the future. Even the idea of TTC after the wedding was a little frightening. Then about November last year I was totally ready and wanted to be a mum – and at that stage we were planning an overseas trip so had to wait til after, the 4 months we had to wait before we were able to start were so hard – I saw babies everywhere and was like “I want one now” Haha didn’t help that Darling Husband didn’t have the same want to wait (I didn’t want to fly/travel pregnant at all because I was worried if I got sick I wouldn’t enjoy it… Plus I’d have to worry about what I ate, drank, did etc)

now we are TTC it is easier again because I know it’s now out of my hands and hopefully will happen soon… So yeah in my case it comes in waves of fever 😉

ETA: I’m 30 and have wanted to be a mum since I was really little – so I guess I’m lucky the “fever” was only bad for a few months I guess 🙂

Baby fever hit me after I’d only been with FH about two months.  Even at that point we knew this was a 100% solid relationship but the first day I saw him with my niece I absolutely positively wanted to make him a daddy!  He is SO wonderful with kids, much more so than I.  And he was so taken with her that at the end of the visit we went to a local beach and ended up discussing baby names! (which we’ve still stuck 100% with).  We’ll definitely be waiting a year or two after we get married, but in the meantime I have the pleasure of watching him with my niece and nephew (nephew was born April last year).

I always knew I wanted to be a mom but baby fever hit Darling Husband hard when our best friends first baby was born. He went from continually saying we’d start in 2 years (he said this for 3 years lol) to OMG we have to have a baby right now I’m going to be so old!

Unfortunately? Fortunately? For me, yes, it did just kind of hit me out of the blue.  Right after the wedding, babies were kind of the last thing on my mind.  Then, 3.5-ish months after the wedding, it was all I could think about!  I think I had some factors influencing my baby fever, though, including having a ton of issues with the pill, talking to other female medical students who had or knew of people who had babies during their 3rd year (I was a 2nd year medical student at the time), and just seeing my Darling Husband with more babies.  He is also SO sweet with little kids, it just melts my heart.  Since I was having issues with the pill, I just decided to stop taking it and we were going to use condoms/chart to avoid. Ha. Haha. Hahaha…that didn’t last long. We both hate condoms, so we just decided to go for it. It took us 3 months of unprotected BDing to get pregnant anyways, whereas I thought it just BAM happened the first time you did it without protection.  I would say I STILL have baby fever, even being 21 weeks pregnant right now.  I don’t mind being pregnant now that the miserable first trimester is over, but still if I could almost fast forward to the end to get our own little baby here, I think I would.  Also, whenever I go anywhere and there is a baby, I am still like OH GIVE ME THE BABY I WANT TO HOLD IT!  Haha…I get this feeling that my baby rabies will also not be satisfied by 2 or 3 kids…I think more and more that I want at least 4. We’ll just see how the first one goes, I guess. 😛

When my sis announced she was preggers with baby #2 a couple years ago, I immediately thought “I want one!!!”. Darling Husband and I (boyfriend at the time) were pregnant within 2 months:) My little man is 18 months old now- best thing that ever happened to us.

@calibee79:  Same here, I started to visit these boards a looooot more often in October when I realized that the time for having a baby according to our plans was approaching.

Now we have one more year to go before the real thing.

@Firemansgirl:  My baby fever came out of nowhere and bit me in the ass! I had “decided” that I didn’t want any children (and had been saying this adamantly for years), but shortly after I turned 24 I developed this raging baby fever out of nowhere! We are getting married early 2014, and plan on TTC in September 2014… I’m so excited to start a family! My Fiance has always wanted kids, so he is thrilled I’m finally on the same page as him.

I think it was more gradual for me, not all at once. A combination of my nephew being born, friends having babies, reading a couple baby blogs, baby-related movies and tv shows, etc gradually just made me not be able to take it anymore haha. It definitely became more prominent when I was a housewife for the 2nd half of last year while waiting for my clinic to open – I realised how much I loved being a homemaker and started longing for a baby to take care of.
