I haven’t showed it to him but if he wanted to see it he could–he knows which closet it’s in. He really wants to be surprised though. I did ask him before I went shopping if he had any requests but he told me he trusts my taste.

Complete surprise, I want that all around surprised stunned look on his face.
That is one feeling and emotion you will never experience agaain, I wouldnt want a sneak peak, first look, or anything until walking down the aisle.
To me that is a very precious moment that you and your man only get once. Nobody else feels it but the two of you. so he did not see the dress, pictures of it, or me in it before i walked down the aisle.

I don’t want to show him. I’m sure he wouldn’t remember it at all or even recognize it since he is a very oblivious guy (I painted our living room a much darker color and he only noticed because I still had the couch pulled out!) but I like the traditional surprise element.

I described to him the general idea of the dress “ivory, full ballgown, strapless” but he didn’t see the picture or the dress itself. i knew he had no imagination for this kind of thing so it wouldnt matter if I loosely described it!

- Wedding: March 2017 - Downtown Riverfront Cafe
I absolutely will not be showing or seeing him, as I love the idea of surprising him on our wedding day. I don’t even like the “first look” trend. Lol. I cannot wait to walk towards him and memorize the look on his face and in his eyes, all of the electricity between us, on the day I become his wife. <3

We had a little mishap… he came home early and the dress was out of the bag, and he saw it. He quickly averted his eyes and it didn’t take away from anything on our wedding day!

I haven’t picked a gown yet, but I WISH I could take him shopping with me, since I value his opinion and want to make sure he likes it! He’s more traditional, and doesn’t want to know anything about it 🙂

I’ve showed him a photo of me in the dress, and we’ll be doing a first look (to the dismay of his parents), so he’ll see me before the ceremony too.

All he knows about it is that it has sleeves, and is a ballgown.
Sometimes for fun, I like to get pics in bridal mags that I think are just completely heinous, hold the pic up and say “Hey, wanna see my dress?” And he will say “That’s not your dress.” And I will say something like “No, I couldn’t afford this one. But mine looks a lot like it!” or “Picture those sleeves on something that is kind of naked-looking up top”
So he probably thinks it’s a tiered shiny dress that looks like it’s had feather pillow innards glued to the bottom of iit, with a sheer lace bodice and pouffy 1980s sleeves. Which I will of course wear with the Wedding Crocs I showed him the other day.
He will be quite surprised 😀

My FI’s seen me in my dress a bunch of times, and in fact, helped me pick it out. I don’t wear make-up or get my hair done, so he’ll still be suprised on our wedding day.

Oh, I meant to click the alternative poll option, dang it.
Fiance knows nothing about the dress (he thinks it’s a tulle ballgown, it’s actually a thin lace A-line) and won’t until he sees it on me. We are thinking about doing our first look & couples formals the day before the wedding. This would loosen up the wedding day schedule and hopefully allow us to have the pictures taken in the garden where he proposed (way too far away from our venue to be able to travel to on the wedding day).
Otherwise we will just do first look on the morning of, and he’ll see the dress then.

Mine came to all the dress shops with me and saw me in a lot (ALOT) of dresses. I wanted to make sure that the dress I picked he really liked because his opinion was the one that mattered the most.

He did not want to hear one detail about the dress. I’m glad too because we both wanted it that way.

He hasn’t seen the dress yet- but it’s a custom one so neither have I! I did take him shopping with me though. My family is all over 3,000 miles away & I don’t have alot of close girlfriends. I love shopping with him, he’s honest to a fault & knows what makes me look good & doesn’t. He’s even got a different eye than I do & will pick out things I would normally avoid like the plague but once I have it on I love it. He thought the ladies at the dress shops would think it’s weird & that we should have told them he was just my “guy friend”- but they were all very nice to him & thought it was extra special that he was so involved.
I’m considering not showing him the finished product though so he might not actually see THE dress until the day of at our first look!

Other: he put my dress on for me.
