I like the colors and design of the first rug you posted but I think it may be a little big for the space.

I like the rug better, it makes the room look finished.

Def get a rug – and keep the rug light in color (perhaps pulling in the light colors of your walls- they look like a pale green?)

I like it with no rug- but it depends what kind of space YOU want to live in.  The rug is more inviting, for you to get on the floor, snuggle or hang out on it.  The ottoman is more formal in that way- it will keep people on the couch.

Um where did you get your ottoman?! We are putting wood floors in our living room too here in the next week and we have this huge glass coffee table that is so not kid proof that I want gone. We were going to get a rug in the meantime but one of the reasons we are replacing the carpet in a house we built a year ago is bc of our lovely dogs. So we were talking and a rug for a us kinda defeats the purpose. I always wanted an leather ottoman and yours looks like one I loved last night! FWIW, I like the rug, it really did fit the space and was pretty. Not all rugs have to be huge and fill the floor, just look at some home inspiration boards-alot of them don’t. So the size is fine. You are fine either way! Can you do both?

I liked the pattern rug but any rug will be nice there. It definitely needs a rug though, looks very bare right now.

I still like the rug that you had! I think it will work well, even with the ottoman there. You will still need some throw pillows that pull the colours of the rug onto the couch, but I think it will work well.

Love the ottoman! I agree with a PP, what about a rug that matches the color of your walls?

I like the rug and definitely think the space can use some brightening up since the floors and ottoman are so dark.

Keep the rug, and get some artwork and colorful throw pillows
