OH yes. He soo did.

1) He became a money psycho. This man had never been cheap a day in his life and suddenly Subway seemed like an appropriate romantic date night.

2) He was suddenly a jewelry know-it-all. Just one year earlier I asked what his mom’s ring looked like and he told me “gold and shiny.” Suddenly I was getting reports like “Mary at work got engaged. Bob got her a 1 ct round stone in a white gold tiffany setting” hmmmm has someone been researching?

3) He became very secretive of his room. Like lunging at me when I headed for the door one night

He wasn’t particularly more lovey or anything… he just sucks at playing i cool 🙂 Love him.

ya know – not really – but i’m also a very oblivious person sometimes – which is funny because i actually SUCK at surprises…like when I was a kid I’d always open my christmas presents before hand (razer blade and tape) and i’m CONSTANTLY checking my registry now…

yet i was TOTALLY oblivious to when he asked. we went on vacation – a 7 hour car ride to Cedar Point from here in Indy – and had NO clue…he had it with him the entire time. even when he got up out of the tent (we were camping) to get the ring out of the car (he had planned on doing it at the park…but decided against it) – and came back into the tent – curled up next to me and slipped it on my finger. :p

but yeah – i had absolutely NO clue leading up to it at all. and he told me, too, he’d had it for about a month prior!

I only noticed stuff out of the ordinary the day it happened.  He really was himself all the time leading up to it.

He was definitely very lovey-dovey.  It was a Friday and he called me at work to tell me he made reservations at this really nice restaurant that night for us.  He was really sweet and nice to me during dinner.   I actually remember something he said that really set my alarm off…I mentioned something about how one of our friends had children already and I couldn’t even imagine having kids right now.  His response was “I can totally imagine that, I think I’m ready for that”.  I was like, WHOA…something strange is going on.

I picked out my ring so it wasn’t a huge suprise when he started being a little cheap and savings every penny. But the night he proposed was a huge storm. He had many dinner reservations at a restaurant I loved which was right on the water. I told him let’s forget about it and order a pizza and he started freakin out. He was online watchin the weather doplar like he knew what he was looking at LOL.

NO he showed NO signs at all!! the only time i look back at that I should have known something was when he refused to change the date of our house warming party. he insisted on a date because that was the date he was going to pop the question.

He bought the ring while out of town, and had been back in town, with the ring for about a week before he proposed. For that week, I didn’t see ANY difference in him. The morning he proposed though, he was acting so odd – he looked really upset, like he was going to cry and I kept asking him what was wrong (lol). He looked so out of character, as he is usually very bubbly, I thought for a few minutes he was going to break up with me! Turns out he was just *terrified* to ask! Ha!

Not the day of, but the weeks prior he acted like he wanted to tell me something everytime we talked about weddings. He had wanted to propose about two months before he did, but things kept going wrong.

nope. nothing different at all. he even researched the spot right in front of me and talked to me about it (we were going camping and he looked up the site online so he could find a pretty place which ended up being a suspension bridge). but he’s weird like that and always researches where we are going. so nothing.

Yeah, he sort of gave it away for me.. but we had been together for 3 years at that point, and we had been living together for a year and a half.. so it wasn’t really a surprise… but i was happy!

He called me at work that day to ask for my dad’s number…. he was going to see him the next day, why did he need his number?? ha.. he was pretty obvious.. and totally nervous when i got home from work.  But it was cute, and endearing.

Yes he did.  Not enough for me to pinpoint that it was going to happen, just that he was up to something- I figured it was still a few weeks away.  I had the flu in the days leading up to it, so he probably could have held a ring up to my nose and I wouldn’t have caught on.  Afterwards everything added up to make sense!

Hah, my FH was really nervous for like a week. It wasn’t enough to clue me in, I just thought something was wrong and that it could’ve been something I did! Maybe Too Much Information, but the night before I tried to get a little something going and got just about NO response. He was too nervous to focus. Poor guy 🙂
