Yes, he asked permission, for their blessing, or otherwise informed them and I'm glad he did

Yes, but I wish he hadn't...we are adults!

I voted “yes and I’m glad he did”.  My dad is my best friend (besides my fiance) and we’ve always been really close.  My fiance knows how important my dad and I are to each other.  When he asked for my dad’s permission, my dad said “what doe this got to do with me?  You are adults”! Then he gave his blessing, of course, haha! I am glad my fiance asked, even though he didn’t need to.  It shows me that he really respects my father and values his opinion… even though he still would have proposed if my dad said no, haha!

Yes he did. He actually took both my parents out to lunch. We have been together for 13 years, living together for 11 and own a house together. He even asked my dad to meet him in the city to helped pick out my ring.

My fiance took a day off work and drove 8 hours to my grandparents house to ask for their blessing for my hand in marraige, ate lunch, and drove 8 hours back. Just in time for him to come over to my house to hang out on a Friday night.

I found out about 3 weeks after being engaged…I was shocked he got that one past me! lol
