He got down on one knee–he’s pretty traditional and wanted to do the whole “small speech, get on one knee and present the ring” thing. I loved it!

@newbee5: My husband did the same. Short speech, got down on one knee and presented the ring. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

@thecoffeefiend:  That’s so sweet. I’ve loved giraffes since I was a kid! We went to Africa on our honeymoon and saw soooomany animals and beautiful sights but the giraffes just took my breath away

Nope.  We were sitting at a fancy dinner and he held out the ring across from the table.

Nope. I was proposing and I felt like it would feel weird. I didn’t even say anything really, I gave him a card where I had written it.

@vanessalynn22:  I love it! I was actually going to say in my last post that there’s a place in Africa where they poke their heads in over breakfast which I bet you’d like – how funny that maybe you went there! https://www.thesafaricollection.com/properties/giraffe-manor/

I’ve fed them a few times and think they’re just the best. Very sweet animals. I’ve actually been thinking of getting a giraffe ring holder to put on our bathroom sink, haha!

@peanutbutterandjam:  We picked the ring out together, but it didn’t come in time for when my husband wanted to propose, so he proposed with a stand in. He did get down on one knee, which I adored.

@thecoffeefiend:  Omg! I did go there but didn’t stay there, just we to see the giraffes and feed them. We then made our way to the park for the safari. I have 3 giraffe ring holders ๐Ÿ˜†

“No kneeling was involved”

Oh no.  Am I the only one wondering if less is more here?  How much of this engagement story do you tell? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes. Actually, he ended up in both knees. I was sitting on the couch.

He is pretty traditional so yes he did do the whole get down on one knee with speech thing while we were walking though a field of lights (profile pic). Although I don’t remember anything he said and almost didn’t say anything when he asked me to marry him. I was freaking out inside and apparently had a look of horror on my face lol

@soontobeacoleman:  don’t worry, that’s not as bad as a woman I just watched on cake boss who was asked over dinner – she asked for a minute, walked outside to the beach and was sick! The waiter asked the man in the restaurant whether it didn’t go so well or what was happening!
