We went together to pick, but all I really wanted from him was his opinion on the color of vest we are getting.

He did give his opinion on what tux he wanted, but It just didnt really go with everything else, so I had to say no.

I know that sounds bad but, he didn’t really care.

Yes.  It was his wedding, too, after all and he didn’t have any input on what I was wearing.  We did discuss ahead what he was thinking.  It was a little easier for us, though, because we had a black and white wedding.  I could see myself wanting to be a little more involved if we had other colors involved.

I was happy to leave that one entirely to Darling Husband and his best man!  Why not, he didn’t have any say in my attire or that of my BMs.  Now if Darling Husband or best man were horrible dressers I may have cared a little more, but honestly, it was a black tux – how bad could it have been?

We picked them out together. My husband, bless his heart, said he didn’t care about what he wore so much as he cared that what he wore made me happy. We ended up having pretty equal say, guided by my husband’s preferences.

He had decided that he wanted to pick out the tuxes without me in the beginning (his mom gave him the idea, ugh!). Originally he wanted a morningcoat style (short inthe front, long in the back) so I freaked out a little because I knew that would look TERRIBLE on him, so he got a little nervous.  Eventually he went in and tried on a few different styles and picked one that neither of us thought we would like (not the morningcoat). So he eventually asked me to go in with him, because he wanted to make sure it looked good with the rest of the party.  It looked amazing! I kinda wish I had just let him do it, because he looks fantastic!

The tux guys (or girls) really know what they are doing and will definitely steer him in the right direction! I say trust him.  But I would definitely recommend going in and picking out the vest colors yourself, guys can’t tell colors as well as we can 😀

We’ve decided that Fiance is buying his suit, not renting a tux and we’ve decided on a colour for vests/ties.  Beyond that, Fiance doesn’t see why I get any say in the matter seeing as he doesn’t get any say in my dress.  I would REALLY like to see what he’s going to buy, but I’m trusting the store to get it right.  It’s a black suit – How could he really go wrong?

We decided on grey tuxes together but I ultimately picked out which one it would be, simply because I was the one that went to the bridal show lol. He will pick the vests and ties.

@As_You_Wish:  I just gave him a swatch of the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress fabric and they matched it to the groomsmen vests & ties.  Darling Husband wore a white vest & tie – it looked great, not silly at all.  No need to worry.

He completely picked them out on his own.  The way I figured it was that he didn’t have a choice in my dress.  He didn’t have a choice in my BMs dresses (they also picked their own).  The least he could have is his choice in tuxes.  HE is the one who has to wear it afterall, not me.

I recently had a dream that he picked them out by himself.  In the dream I wasn’t all too happy and told him that I had to see and approve of what he had picked out.  Which applies to real life.  No way would I let him pick it out by himself!

Also, on a funny side note: I’ve been previously married.  And ex and I had picked out the tuxes together so obviously they were pretty normal tuxes right?  Well, my brother goes to get fitted and he asked if they happen to have it in stock so he could see what we had picked and they brought out this crazy funky multicolored tux!  My brother was like “really?!”  Thinking to himself that something wasn’t quite right he luckily mentions this to the salesman, who then asks him if it was for the prom group “Steve Johnson’s”?  Ummm… NO!  Apparently a group of highschool guys, one of which had my ex’s same unusual name (no it’s not Johnson) had rented these crazy tuxes for their prom.  *Phew* crisis averted!  So glad my brother didn’t show up to my wedding in what he basically described as a clown tux.  Lol

My SO wants to buy a bright red suit. A bright.red.suit. How can I deny him though? It’s his day too!
