(Closed) Did he picked a ring for you entirely on his own? If so do you like it?

He picked it totally by himself, even having the setting made and the diamonds cut. It couldn’t be more perfect. I’m a very lucky girl!

My Fiance picked the diamond and the setting out all on his own. He even stole one of my other rings so he could get my ring sized and totally surprise me. I love it!

I said in another thread how it’s nothing I would have picked on my own if he’d asked, but I think it’s gorgeous and I love the sparkle. He did a good job.

About my ring: I picked out my engagement ring myself, after he had proposed. I adore my ring aesthetically as well as symbolically,  because it’s a symbol of his love for me regardless of who picked it out.

About my proposal: I accidentally found out what day he was planning on proposing a week in advance,  and I told him so, because that’s the kind of person I am and relationship that we have. And we decided not to reschedule. So the proposal itself wasn’t a surprise, but all the details were, including the dragon ring in my profile pic that he proposed with, and it was still incredible πŸ™‚ And personally I enjoyed the anticipation!

So even if you know exactly what the ring will look like and when and where the proposal is happening,  trust me, there’s no way you’ll know EVERYTHING,  and you’ll be over the moon regardless.

He designed and had my ring made all on my own and it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. IT is so touching knowing he knows me so well that he could make it for me.

I told him that I really liked the princess cut diamonds and I hated yellow gold. But I didn’t show him any pictures and we never went ring shopping together. I got this: and I love it!

@marie02:  ohh my god. I love your ring! I’ve been looking at and coveting the encased round stone.

He’s custom designing mine, and I don’t get any say. But if I did I’d me shoving him in the direction of your ring!!

Thanks so much! That’s so nice to hear πŸ™‚ I will be passing all these compliments onto my Fiance. It will make his day πŸ™‚

And, sparkidoodle, I’m sure whatever your man has designed for you will be perfect! How exciting!  πŸ™‚

@brazilian_american:  Yes, my Fiance did a fabulous job if I do say so myself! He let me show him an example of what I’d like but kept me out of the process other than that.  He had it custom made. Still can’t help but stare at it.

Mine picked it out all on his own, all we had discussed in passing was that I wanted a clear stone but didn’t care if it was diamond, and my ring size. He really didn’t want me to have anything to do with it and all our comversations were super hypothetical–I didn’t think we’d get engaged for years! So it was definitely a surprise. Sorry I don’t have any good pictures.

This is my ring. The Fiance and I went looking together but he ultimately picked one out that I absolutely adored. We both agreed that it reminded us of a mix between the on in the Phantom of the Opera movie, and a flower. Plus is just super unique and stunning in person! I let him pick the diamond center stone himself. I gave opinions, but he ultimately chose and I love it πŸ™‚

crisy003:  I’m not usually into halos but…DAMN! That is an awesome ring! It’s not clunky looking like I usually feel halos are. It’s so delicate and pretty! Great job fella!

Ninebones:  Thanks so much! I love the slightly larger diamonds on the NSEW on it, and the little sides look like leaves on the side of a flower. I definitely love looking down at it all day πŸ™‚

He did, well… he asked my best friend and she guided him a little but he built it himself on bluenile.

I do like it πŸ™‚

My Fiance designed mine by himself, we went to get my necklace cleaned that he got me a few Christmases ago and the lady started showing us rings while it was being cleaned, I liked the bigger ones with a higher setting and he liked the dainty “granny” rings so we left the shop arguing and I told him not to get me one and I’d choose my own (we hadn’t even talked engagement at this stage so it was silly) and he said that I would have to wear what he chose and that it’s just a symbol for a marriage contract so it shouldnt matter what it is, that was june last year, in november last year he started the process of designing it and proposed to me 2 months ago on our europe holiday, a complete surprise and I absolutely love the ring even though i never really thought about three stone rings before
