I think Melissa Sweet dresses are a little overpriced. While very beautiful and fun, you look at the dress then look at the price tag and it doesn’t really make sense. They are also a lot less formal looking, I think they’re better for beach weddings or a more free spirited bride.

Looking at you in these two dresses, I have to say they are both great options. Both of them do the right things for your figure and are beautiful gowns. But I do think the Melissa Sweet is a little young and beachy while the jewel is more formal and elegant.

Hope that helps!

The Jewel one is beautiful!!! While I love them both, I think you made the right choice choosing the dress that you felt the happiest in! Plus, it was cheaper so bonus!

As others have mentioned, I think it’s definitely that the dress is not tailored yet. That’s the problem I have with photos of me in my dress – the bust needs some serious tailoring and it throws off the look of the dress, but if you can envision the tailoring, it’s perfect. I think the Jewel is beautiful – much more original than the Melissa Sweet, although that is also a pretty dress. But I think your guests will be seriously wowed by your Jewel dress!

I think the jewel has more of the “class” factor. The Melissa Sweet is really pretty, but I like Jewel more.

I think the Jewel dress is much prettier by far!

You made the right choice.

I like the Jewel one more… I totally understand what you are going through.  It is very hard to not care what people think.  I am finding I never get the reaction I want when I show people anything.  Which is why you always have to do what you want to do.  Because pleasing anyone else won’t make you happy.  Now.. if only I could listen to my own advice! Wink

You look beautiful in both…but I think you made the right choice.  If you are feeling beautiful and special, that will also show.  At the end of the day, it will be your opinion, not anyone elses (besides future hubby) that counts.

i think they are both beautiful on you!  However, i like the distinctive neckline of the jewel better.

I like the Jewel better too and I’m agreeing that people just can’t imagine what the dress will look like when it actually fits your measurements.  Plus people have bad taste, in general.  LOL 🙂

I like the Jewel too…I agree and think the lack of response has to do with the fit and lighting in the picture you showed.  I think once it is fit to your body and you are all done up you will LOVE your dress choiceLaughing

I agree with the consensus–the Jewel is gorgeous.  But you should follow your heart–it’s YOUR big day, not everyone else’s. 🙂

great advice so far!  they are both beautiful, but if the jewel made you glow and feel amazing (and your parents even noticed!) then thats how you need to feel on your wedding day, and you will.  if you feel like something is off with the melissa, then you will always feel that way.  so do follow YOUR heart!  once everything is tailored for you that part will take care of itself, so make sure its the one you feel the best in!
