@allyfally:  I think a bee has a sapphire and diamond band with a little gap cut out just like that!

@wrkbrk:  Yeah Mrs.Charpentier has a band like that. I think they are pretty common but I am not sure if you can just buy them like that or if they have to be custom made to your ring.

I saw quite a few of those when I went looking for a band (Kay, Jared, Robbins Brothers is where we went) – I think it was just a type of ring wrap (say THAT 10x fast!). Not sure if they have to be customized or not.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think the OP is talking about the traditional notched band, like this:

You are talking about the notch being on the top of the band, right?  So if you were staring down at it, it would be a straight band?  Haha does that make sense?

I just googled “notched wedding band on top” or something like that, and I found that picture.  You may need to have it custom made for an emerald cut but at least you can use that picture to show a jeweler!  My only concern would be that the metal would be very thin where the notch is… But if you had it sodered (sp?) to your engagement ring I think it would protect it!

haha this thread made me giggle, thanks for the shout out, this is what my band looks like!

I totally get what your looking for! You just need it notched from the top so your E-ring can slide over it, my ring was custom made, it wasn’t too expensive and i would recomend it in a heart beat! 🙂

@allyfally:  The e ring was just bought, and so was the diamond band, the sapphire one he had to remove 2 sapphires and then shape it to my e ring, then for stability the diamond band and sapphire one were soldered together. Hope that helps 🙂 both wedding bands are now one and cost us $1,700. Diamond band was on a 30% discount at time of purchase
