- Wedding: June 2012
So we are getting married June 23rd with our rehearsal the day before. About half our of guests will be out of town, so a few months ago (before even sending out invites) I emailed our wedding party and out of town friends with hotel info, stating that two nights were blocked off for anyone in the wedding party. I did not speciffy that this was because of the rehearsal. I had planned on sending rehearsal details and invites out a month prior to the wedding, thinking that would be plenty of time. Over the last couple days, several of the groomsmen have seemed completely surprised by the prospect of a rehearsal. (best man/brother of the groom worried he won’t be able to get off work, another who only reserved a hotel room for one night, another who had planned on just driving back and forth 3 1/2 hours each way for the wedding).
I guess I assumed people would know there would be a rehearsal, and that a month would be enough time to get people all the details. Am I way off base? Did I completely drop the ball or is this just a case of some guys who aren’t familiar with weddings?
I’m sure it will all work out fine in the end, but I’d hate to be a total jerk!
