I think the guys are probably clueless. I would assume there is a rehearsal the day before if I were in a wedding.

@dickinson:  I think this is just a case of boys being boys. I would always assume here was a rehearsal for a wedding I’m in until Inwas told otherwise and if I needed to make arrangement farther in advance I’d contact the bride to find out what the prospects are. 

If they can’t make it that sucks since its nice to have your whole wedding party at the rehearsal dinner but it’s not the end of the world. Ceremonies typically aren’t that difficult for the bridal party so you can always just get somebody to stand in for them. If you think they won’t be able to catch on we only had the bridesmaids walk unescorted down the aisle and the groomsmen just walked in with the groom and waited up front before the weddingeceremony started.
