- Wedding: April 2012
Me and my Fiance don’t dance (but I want to. Even tho I don’t on a regular basis.) I am getting at least a first dance out of him. I’m wanting to take some lessons.
Future Mother-In-Law and family say they don’t dance. In fact the past few weddings there was no DJ or music. The couples said there vows, took pics, mingled and ate. Guests were arriving and leaving at all different times.
Our wedding is 200+ people mostly FIs family. I am hoping that other members of the family will want to dance. I know my friends will but that makes up about 20 0r 30 people.
I hired a DJ for 6 hours. From 4pm to 10pm. My wedding decorator/coordinator says that’s too early and that we should start and end an hour later. When I told my Future Mother-In-Law this she gasped and said you’ll be lucky if people stay past 9pm!
I hired my DJ based on the 100+ rave reviews I read about him. He does more than DJ he entertains the guests. I talked with him for over an hour on the phone and he assured me that even the people that don’t usually dance will. I was worried that he would be over the top and too wild for my FIs family but he again reasured me that he knows how to read a crowd and ajust accordingly.
Do you think I made a mistake?
(side note…the only family I have is my brother and his wife, my 21yr old son and his gf and my 14yrold daughter.)
