If you aren’t comfortable in the dress, don’t go with it – it’s your big day, you should be 100% happy.

Christina Burmistrova :  Either of these could fit what you’re looking for. Both are under $1,000.

From Alexveilbridal, an Etsy shop (production time: 4 weeks):

From Milamirabridal, also an Etsy shop (production time: 3 weeks):

Christina, i think the dress looks really nice on you and you dont look fat at all! But i get a sense that youre not happy in the dress and since it is your big day, i would look a little bit further..

That dress is gorgeous!!!! I think you’ve got such a lovely figure, and beautiful shoulders! I was told when I was looking at dresses, if you have good shoulders you’ll want to stay away from sleeves and higher necklines, Maybe try dresses without sleeves/illusion or lace neckline. Or if price is an issue, I’m sure that dress can be altered to remove the lace top into a strapless mid-low back dress; imagining that, that would be so gorgeous ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Keep looking; it doesn’t sound like the right dress for you. You do look lovely but if you aren’t comfortable in it (you mentioned that the lace is scratchy) and if it doesn’t feel like your dress (because your Aunt and Mom picked it) then it’s not the one.

You could always go shopping on your own to look for something else?

Do you feel like it makes you look fat when you look in the mirror or when you look at the picture?  I think it looks great on you – everyone looks more flattered when their armpits are covered, so I’d definitely take this over a strapless version – but if you’re uncomfortable with the picture, it might be more with the angle of the camera than the dress.  She’s holding it slightly angled downward, and that distorts the proportions of the upper body.  If you don’t like it, by all means go with something else, but pay more attention to how it looks in the mirror than how it does in a picture.  I’m short, every picture people take of me has a distorted upper body, and when your lower body looks shorter than it actually is, it gives the impression that you’re wider.  What sometimes helps is to have people take your picture with an unobstructed view in a mirror visible – even if the you in the foreground is distorted, the you in the reflection won’t be.

Itchiness in the lace often goes away when you get it cleaned – they tend to spray the gowns with all sorts of terrible things to keep them crisp on the showroom floor.

In any case, you absolutely do not look fat in the picture. ๐Ÿ™‚  But I understand how seeing your body look different than it does to you when you look in the mirror is disconcerting.

I wore CWG731 and had total dress regret feelings all the way up until the wedding – I honestly could have worn all of the dresses I tried on, haha – but trust me, the day of you’ll ove it and it will be perfect
