I seriously have something wrong with me…I love my dress (I really do, this isn’t me trying to convince myself lol) but I also love another dress that was my “runner up”. I randomly go back and look at the picture and it makes me wonder if I love it more than my dress and that I shied away from it because of other people’s opinions. I’m not sure what good that does though since I already have my dress (as in, my actual dress already came in) and I doubt I would be able to get the other one since it doesn’t look like my dress would sell judging by other girl’s classifieds listings.
So anyways, I guess I just wanted to vent and possibly get some reassurance that I made the right choice…or see if y’all’s nonbiased opinions lean towards the other gown.
This is a picture of the sample of my dress (I chose this pic because the details really show through but keep in mind the top isn’t fitted right so it pokes out)
And here was my runner-up the Enzoani Darwin (this was also a sample and wasn’t zipped all the way)

While the Darwin is a beautiful dress, and is beautiful on you, I think that your dress was definitely the right choice. I can’t even put my finger on why, though, so I am not particularly helpful. I love the higher (natural?) waist on your dress. Something about the transition (or lack thereof) between the bodice and skirt on the Darwin is just not right, for me. It’s almost like it’s trying to be a natural transition by having similar texture in the bodice and the skirt, but the seam ruins it. Yours, with such stark constrasts separated by a beautiful, simple belt (or what looks belt-like in the photo), just…works. I love it.

Oh, I love your dress way more!! It is so detailed and different, you’re right. Good choice!

Both are really lovely — the Darwin looks a little older and maybe even stuffier to me, though. I’m not a ruffly person, but it’s looks like it suits you. It’s very young and fresh and fun, and the bodice is beautiful.

I think they are both beautiful on you but the dress you choose has a lot of wow factor to it. I would delete the other picture. I had to do it because when i would flip through my phone and see my runner up it made me question it. I deleted the picture and never had another doubt!

@Almost Mrs.P: thanks y’all! I guess I’m stuck on the Darwin because it was more of my original vision with the dropped waist, lace, and long train but there was something about the Martina that was just so unique and alluring.
@dreamhazer: funny you mentioned the “old” thing…that’s exactly what my mom said lol. (I don’t think it looks old but I can see how it has a more mature look to it)

I think both dresses look amazing, but you made the right choice with the first one. The details on the top of the first dress are gorgeous and I’m sure they’ll look even better when your actual dress gets fitted! I agree with the PP that you should delete the pics of the other dress and focus on the one you’ve chosen.

@bleusteel: I think y’all are right, I need to delete the picture : I’m also going to bring my dress home from the salon on the 6th. I’m hoping that will help. So every time I feel down about it, I can run to the guest room, rip open that bag, and see exactly why I picked my dress!

I personally like the second one better but you seem so much more into the first one. I get that you will feel wistful towards the second one but since you’ve already made your decision, delete the pics of the other one and fall back in love with the one you chose 🙂

I agree with several of the PPs, the natural waist is more flattering, and the dress is a little more unique.
It’s lovely, rest assured!

@Squid: + 1
My personal preference is for the second dress, but you seem to have a much stronger emotional attachment to the first dress. That’s the most important thing, feeling like you ended up with the right dress for you.

I think the one you bought looks BEAUTIFUL on you. I was doubting my dress as well when I first bought it.. but you know what, there is a reason you got that one over the other. Don’t worry about it. You look beautiful in it (it hugs your curves in the right ways)

Thanks for all the sweet words y’all. I always feel so silly and ungrateful when I doubt my dress, but from what I’ve seen on the Bee it’s a pretty common occurance.

Your dress is best! I like #2 a lot, but the wide sash/belt is too distracting to me.
