Hello Bees! I am happily married for about a month. I love my husband to pieces, but lately, I have been having second thoughts about my engagement ring choice. My two choices for a ring were:
1. A Classic Tiffany Six Prong Setting from Tiffany’s. 0.54c VS1 H Color Excellent Cut.
2. A Four Prong DeBeers Ring. 0.80c VS1 G Color Excellent Cut.
They both cost equally the same. Which do you think is more beautiful? I wont reveal which one I finally picked just yet so the answers won’t be biased. Please tell me your honest opinion…

i would have chosen the tiffany setting because i love plain solitaires – not too much bling, but enough sparkle!

I would go with the A Four Prong DeBeers Ring. 0.80c VS1 G Color Excellent Cut. It’s a bigger cut, better color, and I find the decision more interesting.

I like the plain one but I am biased since thats what I wanted and have I do agree with PP that DeBeers is the more interesting choice but I still prefer the plain one.

@azzie17: I prefer the Tiffany one also. I love e-rings with a plain band and one stone 🙂

I prefer the second one! But the first one is absolutely stunning too. I say you wouldn’t have went wrong with whatever you picked in the end 🙂

I voted the first, but then I like simple and didn’t want anything more than about .5 carat. I think the other is beautiful too, I just wouldn’t want to wear it all the time. I actually think the second one has more personality.

Im guessing you chose the first one since that picture was taken in your car? lol…I love them both and I really don’t think you could have gone wrong here. If you think your e ring is a little too simple, jazz it up with a sparkly anniversary band, like the band in the second picture.

I’m a total sucker for 6-prong so I picked Tiffany 🙂 I can’t even tell the size difference in the photos, I wonder if the second one is simply cut deeper so they face up similar.

The second ring would be my preference.

@Mrs McCain 2012: Good eye.
I like the first one better because the band of the second one is too busy for me. Were they really both the same price!?

My guess is the ct. weight you are noting is TCW not just of the center stone. I don’t see a major difference in the center stone and prefer the classic solitaire in this case.

Hahaha… Very observant Mrs McCain! Yes, I did end up choosing the Tiffany. Looking back though, I am shameful to say that I was mostly sucked in by the Tiffany Brand. The specs of the DeBeers ring is better, and when I look at my finger I wish I had chosen the bigger stone.
This is so silly… I am a post-grad student with loads of unfinished work, and yet I can’t stop obsessing about my ring! :(… And its all my fault. Husband had given me free-reign to choose whichever I wanted…
Juliepants- Yes, they are basically the same price.. I think the Tiffany brand makes it more expensive…

I have a .80 carat solitaire De Beers ring which I LOVE LOVE LOVE, in fact I much prefer de beers to tiffanys, but I picked the tiffany’s ring because I love solitaires the de beers ring in pic 2 just isnt as pretty as the tiffany’s ring in my opinion.

I think you chose an absolutely beautiful ring.
