I posted a few weeks ago wondering when my period was coming (I miscarried naturally on January 11, 2015). AF finally arrived on March 9 and ended March 15 (7 days). Prior to the miscarriage, I had long and irregular 34-36 cycles so I was not expecting to ovulate until next week. However, right after my period ended, every day was a little slippery (sorry TMI) and finally on Sunday, March 22, there was stretchy, clear egg white CM. Hubby and I had a ‘spicy’ evening right away. The next day, I felt a little twinge in my left ovary but I think it was just gas (ha). For the past couple of weeks, my temperature has been consisitantly 97.6F/97.7F but this morning, it went up to 98.7F! Could I have O’d?
I don’t want to get too excited here because I know that after a miscarriage, our hormones can go wonky. But is it possible, that I could have ovulated? I think it’s too early but then again, it’s been years since I have had a 28 day cycle. I read in a couple of articles that after a miscarriage, there’s a good chance that my irregular cycle could go back to normal.
Not only did my temp go up this morning, but I also woke up with a very sore throat. I’m also feeling achy and my nose was running this morning. I also have a little headache. I think it’s too soon to get these symptoms but I’m just not sure. There’s a huge chance that I am coming down with a cold and this is all just coincidence.
I would love to hear your thoughts! I know this might be too early to make assumptions but I can’t help it 🙂

I’m sorry about your miscarriage. 🙁 Do you have a chart we can look at? You’ll need temps for the next 2 days to confirm that you O’d. Based on your CM it sounds about right, but until you have more high temps, it’s hard to know for sure. If you’re getting sick, that can affect your temps too as your body is fighting the sickness. I haven’t heard people associate a sore throat and runny nose with being pregnant before, and I do agree that today is way too early for any kind of symptoms. Good luck!

Sorry, I don’t have an online chart. And I think you are right, it’s too soon to find out if I ovulated. Since I posted, I found some articles saying that it is possible to ovulate right after getting a period, according to my chart. I had EWCM on Day 14 of my cycle and my temp spiked from 97.7F to 98.7F on Day 16. But I think it’s because I have a bit of a cold (though, I read that when you ovulate, your immune system is low and easy to get infections). We shall see!
When I was pregnant the first time, I had a runny nose and flu-like symptoms which I learned were symptoms of pregnancy. The difference is right now, I actually feel sick. Thanks for your response!

Unfortunately without testing for ovulation we won’t know, but it’s very possible 🙂 Might be worth testing the next cycle to make sure (unless you get pregnant!!)
The cycle I got pregnant I had that twitch you described a couple of days after the EWM.
I’m so, so sorry about your miscarriage, but it does sound promising that you have a good chance this month 🙂

You may have ovulated. After I had a chemical, I ovulated two days earlier than normally. That time I knew exactly when I ovulated (it was a Saturday evening) because of opks, ovulation pain and EWCM with a blood streak in it but my temperature didn’t spike before Monday morning. Thus, just that there has been a delay is fine. Just keep following your temps!
I would, however, disregard the fact that you had a sore throat and cold symptoms. These are pregnancy symptoms (I should know, I’ve had a stuffy nose since I was six weeks pregnant and I’m 22 weeks now!) but they can’t confirm ovulation. Even if you did ovulate, you wouldn’t have implanted yet so it’s impossible to have pregnancy symptoms.

Hmm I didn’t ovulate. Darn. Stupid flu! At the end of the day, I had a high fever and my throat was so sore. I checked my temperature in the next morning (yesterday) and it dropped back to 97.8F. This morning it was 98.0F. Strange that I had EWCM though. I noticed this morning it was quite slippery again and according to my app, I will be ovulating Monday/Tuesday (based on 34 day cycle). If this is the case, I hope I can get over this cold soon!

I get EWCM with colds – you produce extra mucus *everywhere*
