I don’t think you ruined it! It’s what makes your story unique and special, to each their own. I think your proposal sounds so cute and romantic, congratulations!

That’s hilarious! He did a great job of planning, and I love how honest your response was. Congratulations!

That sounds like an awesome proposal! You’re engaged now right!? So you didn’t ruin it!

Just don’t tell people about you saying that if you think they’ll give you a hard time. But I think it’s cute you said that!

I kind of ruined ours (much worse than what you said) and I was sad about that, but in the end we’re now married and the proposal really doesn’t matter anymore.

It cute, lol. The best moments are unplanned and imperfect. What girl had a “perfect” reaction to a proposal? I forgot to say yes, instead said “of course i will!” And grabbed the ring. I completely forgot to let him put it on. So dumb.

Congrats you little blushing bride!

You didn’t ruin it at all. I have a similar story and I think back and want to kick myself at saying what I said right before he proposed but then I just think “nahh, that’s totally my style to be that much of an ass” hahaha. We might be quirky, but our FI’s seem to love us ๐Ÿ˜€

If it really bothers you, when someone asks you how’d he do it, just say:

“My partner had a beautiful set up!! But I was so taken by surprise and in shock. I always wanted and knew I would marry him but didn’t think it would come so soon: we got home to the apartment and there were candles and roses everywhere – I was in shock and as soon as I saw the table I said “OMG holy shit are you proposing! By then he was down on one knee and everyone thinks I was a dingbat for saying that! However it didn’t ruin the moment? It’s annoying how everyone keeps asking how he did it then I have to explain! I couldnt help myself when I saw the ring either. It was so amazing I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing I forgot to say yes for around 30 seconds!”

I don’t think you ruined it all all. You were very surprised and that’s what he was going for.

Don’t feel so bad you’re only human ๐Ÿ™‚ I told Fiance I hated him right after he pulled out the ring (long story lol). As long as the proposal fits you two and you’re happy that’s all that matters

ggxx:  My DH took me to the beach and wrote the proposal in french (which I do not read or speak) in the back of a photo album he gave me. Completely and utterly oblivious to what was going on, when he asked me what I thought it said, I replied ‘where are the rest rooms?’… Yeah. That’s just what our poor men have to deal with when they catch us by surprise. It makes a great story now…

Congratulations on your engagement!

First, congratulations! ! Second, no way did you ruin your big moment! That’s the stuff of real life and you will smile and laugh about it together for all the years to come. A few minutes before my fiance proposed he was waxing poetic about the waves on the beach and the sunset. He NEVER talks like that! So I said jokingly, “Gee, is this where you propose to me?” Turns out it was! He thought I knew (I didn’t) but he laughed my comment off and waited a little longer into our beach walk to pop the question. When he did, it was very surreal…and I felt like an idiot! We are still laughing about it, though.
