I chose them for my girls. I don’t think they’re ugly at all.

@ktmcgwvu08:  This dress is far from ugly! It was actually the ONLY bridesmaid dress that I liked at David’s Bridal, and was all set on ordering it for my girls but one of them is very tall and this dress would’ve been obscenely short on her. I’ve seen lots of pictures of bridal parties in it, and in general I thought it was quite flattering on most body types. I got to try it on myself, and if I were a bridesmaid, I’d be very pleased to wear this dress for a friend’s wedding, and would probably wear it again too! But if it doesn’t fit with your wedding theme, I guess you’ll have to discuss it with your girls and figure out if DB will accept an exchange or refund their money.

I think it’s cute, your girls will look pretty and coordinated but not take attention away from you! What color is it?

@ktmcgwvu08:  These dresses were on the cover of their catalog when my girls first started shopping… they loved them on the catalog, but when they tried them on, they looked AWFUL… The dress was crazy unflattering on all three of my girls who tried it on (one was 5′ and size 0, another 5’8″ and size 10 with crazy long legs, another 5’5″ size 6 totally average in every way).

BUT… I think that

@Britt214:  bridal party looks gorgeous!!  So the dress CAN look good on people! 🙂 Maybe my girls were just an anomaly??

Either way, I think it’s a beautiful dress… just wasn’t nice looking on my particular friends. 🙂

@ktmcgwvu08:  When I read the title I thought it was going to be something like the meatball dress (fart cloud, I think someone called it) from a thread a week or so ago. I actually think THIS dress is quite lovely. Of course it will depend on your BM’s sizes, but I think all of the women who have been posted wearing it in this thread look pretty good!

I would say the fact that some of your BM’s already bought it and didn’t make any fuss about it probably means that they don’t think it’s ugly either. If a bride picked a really ugly dress for me to wear I would probably pull her aside and say “are you suuuure this is what you want?” but ultimately I would still wear it.  Sounds like your girls don’t have any problems with it.

Would you feel better about the dresses if you accessorize them in a way that you love?

@ktmcgwvu08:  f you have any doubt and they can still return them, bring them back!!! You’re going to forever stress over it! Rule #1.. Don’t bring all Bridesmaid or Best Man to pick out dresses! Why do they have to be from David’s? This is your wedding…. You shouldn’t be settling for stuff. It should be because you love it! It’s YOUR wedding not your birthday! Kind of a big deal!
