you might have to pay a rush fee, but you’ll be fine. my seamstress told me she can do everything the week of if i can’t get down there before the wedding (i bought my dress where the wedding will be).

do you think any alterations place could do it? i took my dress to one in town instead of to a bridal salon and they had mine done in about 3 weeks. 1 week for the actual fitting 1 one week for the hem and 1 week for the bustle. but i think they could have done it faster – i just wasnt in a rush so i just kept scheduling my appts a week apart.

I think you should be fine! I know what I had done was pretty simple (bustle and taking in the bust and waist) but it was a solid week turnaround. I say keep looking and don’t get discouraged! I’m sure if you speak to a seamstress and tell her that it’s your wedding dress, they will do whatever it takes to get it to you on time! Good luck!

There’s time, you just need to contact people and make an appointment!  The only problem you’ll have is that all of their saturday appointments might be filled, so you might have to go in for the fittings on a weeday. (I said might, no panicking!)

Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Try asking your local boards, or the local boards on the knot.com.  I got a bunch of recommendations that way.  Also yelp.com has recommendations.  Have you tried spanx or something like it for the stomach?

I have a tailor that my family has used for years and years who does wonderful work.  My wedding and the tailor were in my home state (where I no longer live) so the tailor offered to do the entire of my alterations during the week before the wedding.  I had three fittings that week (one on Monday, one on Tuesday, and the last on Wednesday) and got all of my alterations done then.

My wedding is in March, too, and my bridal salon told me specifically to wait until mid-late January so that I was as close to my wedding weight as possible when alterations started.  It sounds like right about now is a fine time to start your alterations.
