After talking to my Future Mother-In-Law and checking the guest count 10 times, my mother and I sat down and discussed whether we’d rather leave people out, or deal with having more people than we planned for. Though I had been hoping against hope to have no more than 100 people show up, our count was at 172. We decided it would be worse to leave them out, and addressed the invitations today! My mom got some pretty silver pens and platters of food, champagne, strawberries and whipped cream, and we made a little party out of it (to take the edge off of it, I think).
We did everything from start to finish, assembly, addressing, filling out response cards, and it only took 3.5 hours! My mom is a little ADD, so she made it a little complicated by switching tasks every 30 minutes, but we managed it without an argument (rare for us), and except for maybe 5, they’re all in a box ready to be stamped tomorrow! We’re still really, really hoping about 1/3 will say no.
So excited to be getting closer to the day! Also, I think the post office is gonna make me hand-cancel them myself when I take them in tomorrow. I went in to weigh for postage, and the woman showed me the stamp and said I would stand in the office and hand cancel them. I guess that’s what they do instead of charging a fee?
