She is an asshole-and she probably guessed it was’t a diamond.  People that live in shade, will never grow.  Don’t let anyone steal your thunder or joy.  They should never have that kind of power.

She knew. She was being a bitch. It’s not a normal question to ask.

She was waiting for you to ‘fess up’ that it wasnt a diamond. IDK why you wouldn’t just be honest instead of trying to play coy lol.

jellybellynelly :  because it’s no ones business what you’re wearing, why you’re wearing it or what was spent.  And instead of being a royal bitch and being happy for her engagement she tried to embarass her…

Like i said.. asshole.

What a strange interaction. I agree she was probably trying to get you to say it wasn’t a diamond. You can most certainly insure non GIA cert’d diamonds, what a strange way to go about asking about your stone.. People are so strange.

Be proud of your moissy. She knew (or at least suspected) it wasn’t a diamond and was trying to “catch” you. Next time she or anyone else mentions whether or not it’s a diamond or certified, instead of shying away from the conversation  use it as a reason to gush about your stone instead: “Oh it’s not certified because it’s s moissanite. Isn’t it beautiful the way it shines!” Those kind of people want to see you squirm. Don’t give them the satisfaction.

alessia :  She knew it wasn’t diamond and that was her attempt at trying to get you to say as much/not so subtly calling you out.

You should’ve said “it’s a Moissanite” then punched her in the throat with it.

alessia :  I think it was rude…buuut, if she’s abrasive in general, I wonder if she was actually asking to try and be helpful? Maybe she thought that you didn’t have it insured because you didn’t know what was required, or maybe she’s been through the process of getting the certification after the fact and thought she could be helpful?

Or I’m being too optimistic and she was being a jerk 😛
