It didn’t end up raining, but the weather forecast called for CRAZY thunderstorms up until the day of.

We had connections to the local university and made arrangements to move there, in case of scary weather. Our hotel was also offering to do whatever they could to help up last minute. We didn’t end up needing the help, but people are generally good when you approach them with kindness and such.

Good luck and happy planning!

I was also afraid it would rain (it had been raining the whole week)  but we had beautiful weather in the end.  We had an outdoor tent that could be closed if needed, and fortunately didn’t have to.  Check with your venue for options!

The weather was awful the weeks leading up to my wedding. I decided there’s nothing I can do to change the weather so the day before I bought 15 umbrellas. Leading up to the ceremony it was trying to rain, but it held off until we were walking back up the isle. You can’t change the weather but you can prepare for it . So be prepared and don’t let it ruine your day.

I’m planning an outdoor ceremony, but I made sure that my venue had a really beautiful indoor back option in case of rain.  I think that you should hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

I havent had my wedding yet, but my outdoor wedding is smack bang in the middle of a Perth winter.. meaning there will either be no clouds in the sky but very cold, or there will be a massive storm front but the temperature will be mild. There never seems to be an in between!

We do have a wet weather option at our reception location, but its not that pretty so fingers crossed I get my ceremony over the lake like I always wanted!

Does your venue have a wet weather option for you?

@monica_patricia:  No rain on our wedding date though it did rain two days before it. Phew! We invested in the Farmer’s Almanac to determine the weather and it was extremely accurate! You must always have a backup plan so get that ironed out neatly should you need to put it into action.

it drizzled in the morning for our wedding, but we managed to have the ceremony outside.  However the wind was INSANE!!

Try finding out the average rainfall by month in your area (March is the rainiest month where I am). It might help calm your fears, or at least give you the motivation to come up with a really good backup plan. There are some pretty cute umbrellas that look really good in rainy-day wedding photos. 🙂
