LovingLife89:  we had an indoor/outdoor venue and it poured and we were crammed into the “plan b” area 🙂

is it possible to rent a tent at the venue you are looking at? A lot of outdoor venues around here have that possibility – but we get a lot of rain.

I think it’s easy to say “oh, well we’ll just hope it doesnt rain!” But if you truly have no Plan B you will stress so much about the weather if there is any chance of rain in the forecast in the days before the wedding.

They had to enclose the sides of the tent. You shouldn’t have an outdoor wedding without shelter no matter what the weather is “supposed” to be that time of year.  I think it was about 60 degrees when I got married on June 27.

Yes, it also poured rain all day with no breaks.

I had an outdoor wedding and it poured the morning of, the rain didnt stop until about midday (ceremony was at 4) at about 2pm the rain clouds started to form again so my celebrant pushed the ceremony forward half an hour to 3.30pm the rain held off but the rain clouds did make for beautiful photos, guest pics anyway we haven’t see pro pics yet.

If it did rain we had a back plan, the venue had a cute little chapel in case it rained so either way I wasn’t to worried.

We had everyone hang out at our reception site until the rain cleared, then sent a call to one of the family members to send everyone out to our site.  We only had to push the ceremony back by a half hour.  It rained again about 20 minutes after our ceremony ended.  We had a great time anyway, but I was cold by the time we were done.

Funny thing is, we planned our wedding for what should have been the driest month of the year, during a drought – guarantee that it wouldn’t be wet – then we got so much rain this spring that we’re almost back to normal now.

Our backup plan was to get married on the patio at our reception site.

Of course it rained. 🙂 It stopped about an hour before the ceremony but the garden was still flooded and the humidity was so bad that I told them to move it inside so that my husband isn’t completely miserable (he gets hot easily).

LovingLife89:  my venue has an indoor option that I don’t like. They also provide umbrellas for the guest and move the bride/gm and bridal party so they dont get wet.this is not my wedding just a photo i found.
