A few months ago at work a coworker was walking across the stage and I was looking at her face and thought, I wonder if she’s pregnant. It made no sense, she doesn’t have a boyfriend or anything and just moved here from out of state. The next day at work, my guy friend was like, “Did you know so and so’s pregnant? With twins?”

And my mom always has this nack for predicting things for me. It will be out of the blue and she’s always right. “Oh, you’re going to start that job and me a soldier and get married.” “No way, I’m no getting married to a military guy.” Well…now I’ve got an Army boy that I never want to let go.

Last summer out of no where she goes, ‘Oh my god, you’re going to have twins, you’ll have two girls.” I was like, “WHAT?!! No Way!” and she just said “yeah that will a handfull, good luck.” I’m not pregnant now but every once in a while she’ll remind me, throw it into normal conversation like it’s a set thing. “Well you’ll be having twin girls anyway so no need to worry about blah blah blah blah…”

So we’ll see…part of me hopes that getting it out in the open will help it lose it’s magic and maybe I won’t be dealing with twin 16 year old girls twenty years from now.

somebody thought i was pregnant before i was… and luckily for me not due to my tummy! one of my mil’s friends asked her if i was pregnant a few months ago, she said it was b/c of the way my husband and i act together. i think it’s silly, we’re newly weds, of course we’re going to be all lovey dovey!

Me and my boyfriend are going to try to conceive next month and my mom thinks I’m pregnant already which is impossible because he is deployed! I thought it was weird she said that because we had talked about trying before I told her, also I went to church this Sunday for the first time in a long time to a NEW church so this pastor doesn’t know me at all, and he comes up to me today and says, “are you expecting?” And I looked at him weird and thought well I’m not a big person so it can’t be confused for being bigger? I said to him nooo??? Why?? And he just gave me that look and said your husband is deployed right and I said we aren’t married but he is deployed, do you know him? And I told him his name and asked my boyfriend if he knew him later and they both said no, so is this a weird sign? Or idk. I’m just scared and excited! So is it really true that people know you are going to be pregnant before you do? Maybe so I guess I’ll find out in the next couple of months! I was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else before?

Ugh, well, I had no idea I was pg (though I was TTC, but had not told anyone else), but I had some pineapple at lunch one day. I wasn’t feeling so great afterwards and an old woman in my office (the very thin, bird-loooking type older woman) looked at me really hard without saying anything. Then she declared, “You’re pregnant.” And she turned and walked away. VERY weird.

But I went to have my hair cut the next day at a salon and I mentioned that I was interested in a clarifying shampoo because my hair had seemed oily. She immediately asked if I was pregnant and went on and on about how that could cause changes in hair. I laughed it off and assured her I was not pregnant.

Except I was. I am still slightly freaked out that two random women seemed to know before I did.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a friend who can SMELL pregnant women. Like one time we were in a restaurant and suddenly she wrinkled her nose and said “WHOA someone is pregnant around here.” We look, and behind her a pregnant woman had just walked in the door. And it’s not like she had BO or anything when she walked by our table. She smelled normal to us, but my friend swears there’s a definite scent. I wonder if she’s smelling the hormones or something.

Also one time our trainer used our bathroom at work, and my friend went in to use it after her. She walks out and whispers to me that she’s pregnant  and lo and behold, that’s why our trainer was visiting, to announce it! crazy stuff.

echomomm :  Yours at least sort of make sense because pregnancy messes with your taste and hormones (at least for me).

I had sensitive nipples before nausea and taste bud changes set in, so I don’t see how anyone could have known before me. But when I was visiting SIL and vomited every morning, we pretty well knew for sure at the same time 🙂

I am also one of these people who just ‘know’ someone is pregnant lol. There is nothing different about them that I notice, it is more of an undeniable feeling. Best one I did was when I met my fiancés uni mates for the first time for dinner and when we came home I accidentally let it slip that I thought she was pregnant. He laughed and told me I was being ridiculous. Two months later he told me she was three months pregnant but hadn’t found out til about two weeks after the dinner! Freaked my partner out big time although he is more used to it now. Think I am up to about 4 now!Hahaha!
