I was thinking the same thing. I don’t recognize most of the posters here lately.

After the website update my username reverted back to the one I signed up with, so maybe that’s what has happened to the bees you’re looking for.  I think they’re working on it! I’m eager to go back to the username I changed to before the update!

lia22:  Many of the posters who switched usernames previously have reverted to their original name.  I’ve also noticed a few people leaving.

I’ve been feeling as if many of the bees I used to see regularly aren’t posting either. AB Bride:  is right about some of what is accounting for this.  Bees who changed their user names have reverted to their original bee names due to a software glitch, and other bees just have no interest in hanging around now that there are so many differences.

I also have an issue with the mobile site.  My Android phone will not recognize the text boxes on threads, so I am unable to post anything from my phone now.  I can read threads and send PMs, but I can’t post comments at all or start threads. I know at least one other bee has this same issue.  It’s very frustrating.

I only recognize 2 of the OPs of threads on the first page. I’ve noticed a TON of names popping up that I’ve never seen before too

lia22:  I think a number of Bees are also just staying away till they get some semblance of normalcy restored to the site. It’s not the “bugs” that are so annoying. It’s the things that are missing because someone made a conscious decision not to include them when they developed the new site.

I know that Mrs Mouse says they are working on restoring some of them, but really what on earth made them think that Bees wouldn’t be annoyed by decision to take away:

  • polls?
  • square around OP’s subsequent posts?
  • messages taking you straight to the post referred to, not just the first page of the thread?
  • direct access to sub boards from anywhere on the site?
  • list of favorite posts?
  • all previously uploaded pics?

I’m sure there are more. I’m also sure that some Bees will come back when they make the site easier to work with.

I’ve noticed the same thing. One regular Bee who seems to be MIA is ThisTimeRound. I miss her posts!

julies1949:  The changes have made me be on here less for sure. I come here while bored, and not having a huge list of topics as well as the lack of subdirectory from anywhere has made a huge impact for me. I am bored by the time I scroll by the huge sticky posts.

I’m not trying to complain, just trying to say I agree with this thought.

I haven’t been able to tell if any Bees are missing because I can’t figure out how to find threads or topics that I was following before this whole thing went down.

I can’t even find threads that I commented on a day or two ago.

For example if you click on my profile/username and then go to boards and then “recent activity” you will see a bunch of random things that I commented on from months and months ago. The only reason they’re popping up is because someone else added to the discussion within the last day or so. It has nothing to do with my recent activity — it’s just recent activity on threads where  commented ages ago.

Very strange, very mysterious and I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be checking back to see if and when this mess gets straightened out. I feel really bad for the people who planned this and worked on it because I’m sure their hearts and efforts were in the right place. But wow, just wow. It’s really a shame.

Taimane:  Wait, she’s gone? She was one of my fav bees. 🙁

I agree that most aren’t on very much anymore. I know that my usage has dropped significantly. From 3+ hours a night to maybe 1 thread per day. I’m not sure if it will ever go back up and I used to really enjoy all the different opinions and viewpoints.

I’ve noticed it too. I’ll admit I haven’t been on here nearly as much as I was before it changed, but there are a few I haven’t seen at all. I really liked following Nona99 & iareabridezilla, but haven’t seen them. Maybe we’re just on a different times..?

I am in the same boat. I can hardly tell what’s going on. I have to do a lot more scrolling & page changing to find out what’s posted and lack of “last poster & last time updated” makes me feel like I’m wasting my time to click. I feel like I’m missing out, but since the times are not showing on the front page, it at least seems like the boards are less active.
