I was DEAD SET on a princess cut back when we got engaged in 2005. Now I’m upgrading to a (bigger) round. Lol! Ovals are beautiful though!

I say get what you love. Don’t buy a certain shape just because it’s classic or you’ll regret it. A lot of women are sentimental and don’t want to upgrade or change later, but I am not one of those women. Haha! So I say get the oval and if you want something different on a significant anniversary or something later on down the line, there’s always that option!

I always knew I wanted a rectangular diamond and it was the emerald cut that spoke to me…

I have a round and I am hoping to get a marquise somewhere down the line for a major anniversary. My second fave would be an oval.

Nope!! I hate rounds-they’re so common, plain, and boring!

Not a bit.  I’ve always been partial to square/rectangular stones.  When shopping for my ring I looked at and briefly considered just about every shape available but really it was always princess for me.  The symmetry speaks to me like no other shape.

Not at all. While I think rounds are pretty, I have always been drawn to longer shapes. We went with a rectangular radiant and I couldn’t be happier.

I have an oval and I STILL FREAKING LOVE IT. I have a round back up ring that I got sick of almost instantly.

I’ve only had mie for a year and a half so not much time to regret. I chose my own ring with a princess cut. I also got a non-diamond ring. So 2 unusual things! I love it just as much as when I first got it because it’s just so “me”.

Get what speaks to you. There’s always a chance that you will “move on” from the style you get now, but you’ll definitely regret it if you don’t even love your ring when you first get it.

And because I’m in a sharing mood

hereforthewine :  Nope! I’m certain I would have regretted getting a round; they are beautiful but very common. I have several alternate sets including a round shape but rarely wear them, to be honest :/

I’m the opposite! I was going back and forth between a round or pear, but decided on a round for my ering. But I bought a small pest pendant necklace for my wedding that I now wear every day since I missed my pear! Also looking to get an emerald cut RHR eventually.

I was torn between a pear, radiant and the classic round brilliant! I’ve always loved pear shaped diamods but my Fiance doesn’t like them bahahahah. I also love raditants but I find the round suited my chub finger better!

I had a round from my exH and I wanted something different so I went with a cushion cut.  I still love the round, but I love my cushion.
