It was for us. No one showed up unannounced.

We did have a few people who didn’t RSVP, who we then tracked down and they then said yes, end up not coming.

We chased down all of our MIA people and I would say it was about 1/2 and 1/2. There was one that never responded and finally she did a week after the deadline and she was an accept. So I guess you never know.

We had to chase down quite a few – but any that were Yes replies once we contacted them were very easy to reach, and apologized for not having sent the card yet. Most of them were No’s, though, and the few that we couldn’t reach didn’t show. We had no surprise guests at the wedding 🙂

I would say never assume, some people just suck at rsvping. I would just make the phone calls.

Yea we just went through that and had to chase down about 20 people. I’d say roughly half just forgot to send it back or “thought we knew they were coming” (ugh why would we send a pre-stamped, pre-addressed envelope if we were mind readers?), and the other half aren’t able to come.

So it’s definitely worth a call or follow up to each of them to avoid any surprises.
