Hi, Just curious if people out there still keeping their wedding dress a secret till the first look on the wedding day. I kinda think I want to make him wait to see it when the time comes. There are so few surprises and that seems like a fun one.
what did you or do you plan to do?

He saw it without knowing it. I showed him a group of like, 10 dresses and told him my dress was in the group. So that was my way of showing him while still maintaining the surprise.

Mine has seen the general type. I chose a style I knew he would like.
He walked into the spare room one day and was worried he’d seen it, but it was just some tulle. Lol.
And we’re not doing a first look.

Mine was kept a surprise. Darling Husband in a panic walked into my changing room before the ceremony looking for the binder with the ceremony script – it didn’t even register for him that I was wearing my dress. He said he doesn’t recall seeing me in my dress prior to me walking down the aisle.

No. Dh never had even a hint of what my dress would be like, and we didn’t have a “first look”. It was one of the only times I’ve seen tears in his eyes.

I showed him pictures of me in the dress and tried to convince him to see me in it while I was trying on veils, but he didn’t want to. Honestly, he forgets things so easily that it’ll still be a surprise regardless!
We plan on doing a first look and most of our photos before the ceremony.

My dress was a mystery, and we did do a first look! 🙂 I was happy that it was a secret until he saw me. It made it a more impactful moment, I think!

dawnlikethesunrise : mine saw pics before I even tried it on and knew it was the winner. He probably saw it on the hanger as well, can’t remember. The only thing he didn’t see was me wearing it until we did our photos that day. Odds are your fiancé won’t really notice it except as a whole. He’ll think you look great but not have a clue about the fancy details that make your dress special. Mine remembers mine as fifties looking and white.

Mine did see it. But he came wedding dress shopping with me since I didn’t have anyone else to go. He was a huge support and help.

Darling Husband did not see my dress before I walked down the aisle. This was his preference, and in fact, one of the only wedding things he felt very strongly about.
Does your fi have a preference?

My husband saw me in my dress many times, because I practised in it almost every weekend at home before the wedding. He even saw me get ready on the day of the wedding. I didn’t feel the need for any surprises and don’t regret anything. 🙂
