So, it just occured to me … based on how cycles are going, it looks as though I will have my monthy friend on my wedding day. (and I mean, just getting it). Ugh … so upset about that. (I get horrible cramps, I mean can’t move, sometimes in the bathroom praying to the porcelain god, really sick).
I’m not sure what to do, but am determined not to allow it to ruin my day (as hard as it has been planning it) lol And then it also occured to me, being that it comes once a month, I KNOW I’m not the only bride you has had to experience it! So, brides … new and old … did you have that experience? Were you scared? Did ya even think about it? and did you do anything to deter it??
Fill me in!

My doctor told me that I could just skip the inactive birth control pills, and continue with my active pills, and that would suppress the monthly visitor!

I’m messing around with my bc pills so I don’t get my “friend” on the wedding day or the honeymoon

I’m terrified Aunt flow will be a guest knowing my luck 🙁

I have no idea!! I worry about this. My cycle is unpredictable (I am not on BC, FH has had a vasectomy) so I honestly don’t know. Some months it comes a week earlier than the month before- December it was the 25th but this month it was the 20th- and my wedding is August 20th! I will die if I get my period the day of my wedding. And so will someone else because I imagine I’ll kill them.

Yes, just as KendraJ said, I don’t think I will actually be on it, but if it ended up I was I’d just keep taking active pills for that month. You might still get some symptoms but they shouldn’t be as bad and you shouldn’t bleed.

Nope, but I wouldn’t call it luck! My doctor and I timed my period with the pill to make sure it wouldn’t fall during the wedding or honeymoon.
(If only I hadn’t checked my pills into my lost luggage so that my period came early on the honeymoon…. that’s another story though, haha)

I’m on BC, so it’s a normal cycle, but I don’t get mine until the end of the month, so I’m in the clear! (HOPEFULLY!)

I had finished the DAY BEFORE- so I was really lucky! Then again, I had just had my mirena put in a few weeks earlier so I was still bleeding almost all the time, but at least it wasn’t full-fledged, feeling-like-your-insides-are-falling out. I KNOW you guys know what I mean by that.

I don’t take hormonal birth control, so if it happened I would deal. Luckily, it looks like Aunt Flo will miss the party. 😀

that witch is supposed to show up on my wedding day 🙁

I used my birth control to change when it was coming so I didn’t have it for my wedding. I’m so glad I had this option!

I’m on the pill, and I’ve actually sat down with a calendar to scope it out, ha! It looks like my wedding should fall in the middle of the monthly cycle, so I should be in the clear.

I was supposed to but I’m on the pill so I just changed my cycle.

I got SO lucky. My “friend” showed up the day after, totally unexpectedly.
